Is it just me, or does anyone else think that this year was busier than previous years?

There were far more people around after the first couple of hours of the race than I remember there being in '02 and '03.

Agreed. Maison Blanche was packed this year, more so than last. We arrived early Thursday am and were searching for a decent place.

Last year we arrived late Thursday afternoon and had no trouble finding a decent spot.

Went in to Le Mans centre on Sunday evening for our traditional meal and to watch the footy to find it really deserted. Where was everyone?

Same here and we usually have no problem on a Friday.
This year MB was over full on Thursday PM.

Anyone thinking about trying Masion Blanche next year, dont bother! I reckon the allocated site (Houx) is probably the best option to go for.

We were in Arnage. A fair gathering of those left but I did notice it was a lot quieter this Sunday than on previous years.

Yes, everyone go for Houx, so we can get into our chosen campsite without hassle

We watched the finish from the Dunlop Chicane and there was only a
fraction of the people seen there in previous years.

We left Le Mans at 8pm when the footie started and the roads were empty all the way to Calais.
Saw only about a dozen UK plates and we never once sat in traffic which was good.

GCerbera just explained it. Everyone buggered off early for the footie.

We left at 6pm, and headed west, and the roads were pretty much empty all the way for us too.
