There was a guy on Sunday evening that mistook the gravel track through the centre of Tetra Rouge camp site for a forest stage of the RAC rally. He totalled his Range Rover up one of the pine trees. A group of lads sat 10 yards the other side of the tree were VERY thankful it was there. The driver was very nearly strung up from the tree, which the to$$er deserved.

There was a very very bad Tuscan accident in the wet not far from Caen on Thursday.
I'd heard a Tuscan had rolled, but I heard no more and found out nothing when at the track. The weather on Thursday was pretty bad from Le Harvre heading south, so not really a great idea for any enthusiastic driving to take place. Most people I saw heading south were enjoying a brisk but sensible drive and I saw no incidents..

Yes, i saw that too. I had been watching the guy in the yellow plymouth doing line locked burnouts, followed by some kid in an escort who completely lunched his front tyres (down to the metal!) Then 5 mins later that happened. Apparently the passenger was thrown out of the side window, looked like his head head hit the front window pretty hard too. Both of the twats were p!ssed! That car was really knackered, imagine trying to explain that to the insurance company!! Could have been a hell of a lot worse if the tree had not been there though
By the way, this is my first posting so hello everyone!
I saw a biker sat on the side of the road on the way to Rouen(sp)on Sunday afternoon - he looked ok and was being attended to.
I nearly became a statistic myself on one of the motorway ramps. The elise is pretty handy with the odd tight corner, but that thing was like a corkscrew - with no warning it was that bad, I really was on the very edge of losing it - in a confined area like that it was pretty scary.

Only accident I saw was in my rear view mirror, and no I wasn't a numpty at all on this occasion!
We headed upto to Dreux after the race, I was travelling with friends who were in a car behind. Turned right at a cross roads onto a main road, having seen a car coming up from my left. Pulled out but thought he's shifting it, woder if Dave will come out or wait. So was watching rear view mirror and Dave did come out and I waited for the reaction from angry frenchie as I thought he'd have to slow. However what actually happened was a french car came out from the junction opposite straight into the path of the oncoming car and they promptly hit.
I say to my wife tht was a big one, and she says don't stop. In the meantime Dave is flashing his lights at me to stop as my wife is a nurse and midwife. So we have to stop, and go back, fortunately no one hurt, but both cars definite write offs.
No need for wifes nursey duties, and if anyone wonders why she said don't stop, its simple. As a nurse if she offers first aid in the UK and gets it wrong she can be sued. Therefore if others have stopped its better she doesn't!

Having witnessed a fatal accident on the way to Dover and having been just 2 seconds
from being involved, we took that dose of reality and had a sensible but fun drive down
through France.
Opened it up a little more coming back but only where we knew the road and could be
as safe as one can be at high speeds.
Always remember seeing a 911 some 10 years back that flew past us just outside Alencon
which we then found totalled just two miles on at a cross roads after a head on.
I think 3 people lost their lives in that, so take it easy folks.

We were in T Rouge but I must've been a bit tipsy as I slept through the lot, I was woken up at about 4am by a load of shouting that someone had been given a good kicking by the Pikeys though, don't know what happened there......
First time I've heard of this sort of thing going on, anything to do with the football??????

Friend of mine lost his Cobra replica,s engine and some of the body to a fuel vaporisation fire. His replica runs an X-Tuscan Race Car Engine and it seemed sitting in traffic for 2 hours on route to the drivers parade was just 2 much for it.He managed to save the car after running into a local resturant and getting a massive fire extingusher! The engine could be fixed but he,d just spent over £1500 just getting it tuned up for LeMans.Sad to hear this engine silenced for without a doubt it was the finest sounding engine i heard all weekend(Tuscan Race engine with straight through lake side pipes screaming at 7000 rpm in Rouen tunnel is like nothing else this side of a BRM V16)R.I.P. TIV engine...what a loss !Well miss u!
