My mate, Al got pulled over in Sees, for what we thought was a standard car check etc.

But.......he had a Road Angel installed, with the radar detector removed, so in effect, only a GPS speedo.

Result? 750 Euro fine,in CASH,and confiscated Road Angel, or the car stays where it is, complete with passport and driving license.

They would have had his wallet too, but that was pick pocketted on Friday night at the parade.

So whip round takes place, and move on.

Then see an Orange Murcialago at a gas station, and the driver is the owner of road angel, the company. he reckons that the GPS is not illegal, and has a letter from the French DOT confirming this.

If ayone has had a similar experiance, let me know, and see if this can be tackeled collectively.

Put a real downer on a Top Weekend

Well done TVR!

Have read in a french car mag that GPS based devices à la Road Angel are not illegal over here. However, whether Monsieur Plod is aware of or cares about this is another matter - you and your wallet are but a goose ripe for plucking...

Has the owner of Road Angel made a copy of this available to all his customers? Eg scan it onto his website so people going to France can download it and print it off to take with them.
