Anyone got any ideas how best to deal with Le Mans Lethargy. Having achieved no more than 4 hrs sleep a night since Wednesday (I normally have at least 8) I am feeling a bit worse for wear today.

So what is best? I have a caffeine intolerance so can’t take loads of coffee/Red Bull – but I am off work until tomorrow. So do I take ‘cat naps’ when I feel tired or just try and carry on but perhaps going to bed a couple of hours earlier than normal.

Hi debs , plumb a line from the coffee machine stright into your arm , and set to maximum caffine , that should keep you going

With jetlag, they recommend suffering through your tiredness the first day and resisting the urge to take a nap as it will make it more difficult to go to sleep when you should. ie, if you arrive in the morning from the US, you'll be beat but should try to make it until 8 or 9 pm and sleep a full night's "sleep of the dead". Taking a nap may make it difficult to sleep the full night and prolongs the jetlag effects several days.

That being said, yesterday I took a one hour nap (I only had 3 hours sleep before going to work yesterday) and I had absolutely zero trouble getting to sleep at night.

Don't know if I've answered the question...

Hey, some were back in the office yesterday!

(Note that there is a difference between "being in the office" and "working"... I was somewhat lethargic myself yesterday..

Last night I was too tired to watch Top Gear or even any of the hours of video footage I took the last few days. Felt jetlagged this morning. Must do some work before I go home......

No problem. Thought the clanking of tent poles and farting would have been enought to rouse you both but obviously the temporary deafness from the rest of the weekend was usefull for something. (at least I hope it's temporary).

Cheers for all you advice etc over the weekend and hopefully see you next year.

Dave.

Didn't know you could still get FAB ice lollies. I thought they'd gone the same way as Spangles and Magic Moon Dust.

Me too - feel pants today I'm on a fortnight's holiday now and think I might need that to recover!

Speaking of wake-up calls yesterday morning. Funny isn't it how all my ostentatiously noisy packing failed to rouse Griffdude, but that he stuck his head out of his tent approximately 1 millisecond after I put the kettle on?

Pod & AlfEssex - you two both looked fine yesterday at the ferry. My hat fell off when I fell asleep in the car on the drive up and I've got a fabulous sunburn blister on the end of my nose today to match the black eyes I picked up on Saturday So I've got an excuse for being confined to the house.

Hmm... perhaps I should have checked the sell-by date...

I was OK yesterday afternoon... tiredness seems to have hit today... although it may be something to do with working in a sweltering office...

Can't speak for Alf, but he looked bloody knackered by the time we got back...

I did manage to get rid of my last Le Mans bogie on the ferry yesterday - last time I had bogies that bad was in Bejing. All black and crusty. They just have to be picked out tho'
