We've been two years now but always driven down in convoys, having a blast but generally taking it easy. Stopping fairly often to regroup etc..

How long would you expect to be able to make it back to Calais though non-stop. Skipping the A-roads and just doing the motorway all the way?

Reason I ask is unfortunately I can't stay for the weekend as I have to work (big office moves and I couldn't get out of it). But I wasn't going to miss the trip so am going for a few days, even if its just to catch the qualifying and get wrecked for a couple of nights

Got an 11pm ferry back on Friday night, but want to know how late I can stay in Le Mans before leaving... No silly speeds - say comfortable 80-90mph cruising...

Silly speeds with 3 stops to regroup and fuel up took us 4.5hrs to the tunnel.

This was leaving Houx Annexe at 8pm.

Hmmm.. so I should go for about 5-6 hours. So that's leaving at about 5pm on Friday.

Is that enough to see the driver's parade?

'Fraid not - according to the ACO website it's 6 til 7

If you also on the ACO website you'll see that the 72nd 24 heures du Mans start at 4pm Saturday but the 71st race finishes on the Sunday so I guess we'll be there for a while

Sadly not, as it's 6pm - 7pm. Sorry.

I usually go back Sunday night and last year left at 3:30 pm up to Alencon on the toll road, then N138 to Rouen then toll/non-toll to Calais.

Arrived at about 7 p.m........ didn'y go mad until I got onto the toll road north of Rouen, then managed the 160km in 1 hour exactly. You can work out the speed......
