I haven’t made any plans to go to Le Mans this year (or any other year for that matter) but since I live in Brussels I am a relatively short driving distance away so I was wondering. If I made a decision on the Thursday or Friday to come down could I park and get in? Can I buy tickets on the gate? Would I be able to park anywhere? Camping is not an issue I’d sleep in the car (I’d be coming solo). Would I get moved on by the police if I parked up somewhere and slept in the car? I know it’s all a bit last minute and I should organize things better but the situation is I may be unexpectedly free that weekend and quite fancy having a blast down there. I don’t mind a bit of discomfort and inconvenience as a penalty for my lack of planning but don’t want a totally wasted journey. Is it doable?

We normally drive dowwn on Friday night/Saturday morning & pull into one of the many car parks when it opens on Saturday morning (can't remember if they open at 7 or 8). It's supposed to just be a car park, but a lot of people put up tents between the cars. Last time we went (2002) it was 100Francs to get in & you can leave the car park & re enter again, as long as you don't throw the sticker away !

You can buy track tickets on the gate as you enter the curcuit too !

We're planning on going, but don't know what car we're taking yet, so haven't booked anything. Doing it all last minute makes it more fun somehow !

Always lots of cars parked on the roads leading up to the circuit so no problem parking there. You can also get into an official car park without a pass - you just pay when you go in. Tickets are available on the door but normally only for general entry - ie you prob won't get a grandstand seat.

I did it without any planning in '02. Lots of fun despite the rain
