Jota have asked for dispensation to have a shakedown run tomorrow, so no chance they're in Hyperpole this evening
The Competitor was in a "major crash" as definied in Art. 8.2.2 of the supplementary regulations of 24 hoursof Le Mans and has requested an exemption in order to conduct a shake down test of the car.Having consulted the Technical Delegates, the Stewards grant the request of the Competitor on the conditition that the test be conducted at or about 20:00 on Friday 14th June and will last no more than 30minutes. The car has also to take part in the warm up session. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordancewith Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.Jean-FrancoisYvesRuiMichaelTimChrisVEROUXBACQUELAINEMARQUESSCHWÄGERLMAYERGEFFROYFIA StewardFIA StewardFIA StewardFIA StewardFIA StewardNational Steward(Chairman)Posted at: 14:29Doc No.: 76
Memories of the days when you would suddenly hear the sound of racing cars doing shakedowns on the L.M. airport runway on a Friday night. Obviously you would hear this whilst busy drinking yourself to oblivion on warm bier & Muscadet (who forgot to bring the ice?), poisoning yourself with an undercooked Merguez, avoiding being run over by a donut'ing TVR or struck by a horizontally-launched rocket. I'm glad it is a more sanitised experience these days (maybe….).

Didn't Lotus, ByKolles and a few other flammable cars do more track time on the airstrip than in the race some years?I'm glad it is a more sanitised experience these days (maybe….).

Anyone find any footage of what happened to the #12 Porsche to cause the crash - I haven't been able to find anything.

Looks like not much, but it's straight to armco with no tyres, so there you go..

Any news on the repairability of the Jota Porsche ?.... Obviously with LM regs you can’t just pull a spare out of the back of the truck
They just did a bit of a dive into this on the coverage with Ant Davidson. As per above links, they've had a spare tub 'donated' from Penske and are busy rebuilding it in the garage. They are not rushing to finish, as clearly its better to do it 'right' and having qualified for Hyperpole, they are starting 8th - so its not actually that bad so long as the car goes together well with minimal issues. A short shakedown on Friday, and they should be good to go for the race.I did wonder what it will look like - the majority of the livery is of course on the removable body panels that surround the tub but the roof might just be in bare carbon and not that lovely gold livery.
Secondly - if you havent already, the Cadillac Documentary which came out this week is really interesting and really sets the scene for their race this weekend, worth a watch. Its really good to see them doing well and looking like they can challenge, and praise the lord for that magical 5 and half litre naturally aspirated V8 - in 2024 these kind of things just feel all the more special.
Hopefully someone on site will confirm it sounds as good as it does through the TV!
Really looking forward to Hyperpole tonight!

The livery is vinyl wrap, so no reason it won't race in it's full livery.I did wonder what it will look like - the majority of the livery is of course on the removable body panels that surround the tub but the roof might just be in bare carbon and not that lovely gold livery.
