No I was with the lad who owned the golf, replying to the person above spreading false information about our party being linked with the Merc owner, we had no idea until we'd got back from watching the Scotland-Germany game. Back to a destroyed car and a friends tent and possessions completely destroyed and this clown is saying we didn't seem bothered ... helmet

Yes, how do you claim if the owner does a runner and there are no number plates or chassis numbers to read? Hope someone has something to identify them.

Owner never done a runner all the insurance etc was sorted through the night and following morning, merc claimed full liability and it's being dealt with, as I said the original post I replied to was spreading false information, everything was sorted before comments were made on this thread 👍

Merc claimed full liability? What they said they were ragging the car and it caught fire so they were negligent? Surely the insurers will only pay out to others if their client was negligent?

Couldn't not say it there was loads of videos of them ragging it and loads of videos of it catching fire and being pushed towards our car/tents

Yeah got the video as well of them pushing it over our mates tent as well, not once did they check to see if anyone was in it, pushed it to avoid their tents catching fire.

Didn't risk turning the engine on just in case there was a fuel leak etc and the front right was completely fked so had to sort out a recovery, think it'll be a write off that's if the cars even still about by time they get there to recover

I would imagine they will try and walk away from covering him.

My wife had an accident with a guy who was dicking about on a motorbike who rode into her. He was doing 60mph ++ in the middle of a town centre. His insurer didn't cover him. They paid for our car, but not his bike or damages.
