I can't remember one where it didn't rain at some time.

Very odd, perhaps tagged another car? Lots of damage.

Was one hour of quali and only 30 mins of hyperbole enough?

Should it have been at least double for both by sacrificing some FP time?

Looks like the medical light (high G) was set off too.

Penalties following FP2...

The following have been penalised for not respecting the yellow flags when #35 stopped on track.

The penalty is cancelation of all lap times since the start of FP2 till the infringement, plus a 5 minute stop and hold at the start of FP3 and withdrawal of one penalty point for all mentioned drivers.

So the 51 & 83 Ferraris getting 10 seconds added to their first pit stop in the race, and Bambers 5 place grid penalty from Spa

Pretty messy from a lot of teams so far

A question for you guys at the circuit.

Any news on the repairability of the Jota Porsche ? That was a hefty accident and the front right looked a bit of a mess. Obviously with LM regs you can’t just pull a spare out of the back of the truck if the tub is punctured/otherwise damaged.

I’m thinking back to previous practice accidents that have caused cars to be withdrawn from the race - such as the IDEC Sport LMP2 car a few years back.

Just hoping this isn’t the case here….

They can replace the tub though, cant they?

D Station and Tower Motorsports did last year after their cars were destroyed in qualifying (starting for the back of the grid)

I like the underdog so hoping for at least one BMW, Caddy or Alpine on the podium, but I reckon it will the Toyotas, Ferraris, and Porsches.

I would love to see a Peugeots up there too, but unless it rains the whole race they will be midfield at best.

UK times for today's track action

2pm - Free Practice 3
7pm - Hyperpole
7.35pm - Hyperpole ceremony
9pm - Free Practice 4

Good point, I stand corrected !

Incidentally, if Sunday’s (wet, wet) weather forecast is to be believed, I wouldn’t discount the Peugeots just yet. Unless sticking a wing on it has reduced its wet-weather capabilities (mysterious things are racing cars….)

Anyone find any footage of what happened to the #12 Porsche to cause the crash - I haven't been able to find anything.

Note how utterly useless the flag marshal is afterwards

Jota have asked for dispensation to have a shakedown run tomorrow, so no chance they're in Hyperpole this evening

The Competitor was in a "major crash" as definied in Art. 8.2.2 of the supplementary regulations of 24 hoursof Le Mans and has requested an exemption in order to conduct a shake down test of the car.Having consulted the Technical Delegates, the Stewards grant the request of the Competitor on the conditition that the test be conducted at or about 20:00 on Friday 14th June and will last no more than 30minutes. The car has also to take part in the warm up session. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordancewith Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.Jean-FrancoisYvesRuiMichaelTimChrisVEROUXBACQUELAINEMARQUESSCHWÄGERLMAYERGEFFROYFIA StewardFIA StewardFIA StewardFIA StewardFIA StewardNational Steward(Chairman)Posted at: 14:29Doc No.: 76
