The Indy 500 disagrees.
The F1 world championship is a bigger deal than both.
That's one opinion. Just to say that it's an opinion that isn't shared by everyone. The F1 world championship is a bigger deal than both.

Listening to the Vanthoor brothers podcast this morning
Entertaing as always, but a couple of things they raised
Kubicas lack of acknowledgment for the crash with Dries, made even worse as it seems he wasn’t bothered to see if he was ok after the crash
The lack of (sulitable) penalties for Ferrari. They cited the multiple times they went straight on at Dunlop, yet were never penalised. This was quite obvious as they did it almost every time they came out of the pits. Yes it was easy to do on cold tyres, but it was clearly a bit more than that
Also weren't the Ferrari's chucking out oil most of the race with no come back. I was a bit hungover and watching the TV in a beer tent but I'm sure I saw a Toyota have to come in to the pits after the safety car was withdrawn on Sunday morning as they couldn't see anything through the oil covered windscreen?Entertaing as always, but a couple of things they raised

The No 7 Toyota had to pit after the SC as the top screen tear off had misted underneath which was exasperated by the increase in speed rather than any issues with oil on it.
If the Ferrari's were chucking oil out the whole race (I didn't notice them doing so) then I'd have expected quite a few top ups through the race. but from memory, there weren't any (or at least no regular ones). There is however a vent pipe on the rear of the 499s (like on all of them, to be fair).

The number 50 car was leaking and needed a top up early on.If the Ferrari's were chucking oil out the whole race (I didn't notice them doing so) then I'd have expected quite a few top ups through the race. but from memory, there weren't any (or at least no regular ones). I recall the commentators referring to leaking oil in the early stages but I don't remember it being mentioned as the race went on....
Again please forgive my memory as it was a beer affected weekend but when listening to RadioLM I was sure over the 24 hours I heard drivers moaning on their radio back to the teams that the Ferrari Hypercars were leaking oil, anyway great race, nine cars on the same lap at the finish is damn impressive. Also thanks Red Firecracker for the explanation re the Toyota tear off,Northcote67 said:

Actually the first time ever that more than 2 cars finished on the lead lap. Astonishing. Gassing Station | Le Mans | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
