Makes F1 look deeply pedestrian…
The thing that strikes me the most between F1 and WEC is that WEC has far more overtaking DESPITE not having the DRS gimmick. These cars CAN slipstream (and benefit from it), whereas F1 cars dirty the airflow so much that following cars are hindered by it.That single change* would transform F1 as a spectacle, and would let the drivers go wheel to wheel far more frequently and far more easily.
(Of course, it may also lead to more accidents, but (a) that would add drama to the championship season again, as (un)reliability used to when I was young; and (b) can be managed/mitigated by appropriate penalties for e.g. causing a race-ending collision.)
* OK, and engine note - I utterly detest the current droning, blaring 6's.
They do need to make the merge and the pass around happen at the same time though. LEAD SC slows down, second SC slows down a bit less, pass around happens at the same time. By the time the 2nd and 3rd SCs have caught the lead SC everyone is in the right place and the SCs can peel off.

Enjoyed it immensely.
History repeats itself. 41 years ago at LM I took this photo of Vern Schuppan’s Porsche 956 after it had lost a door on the Mulsanne. The door was replaced and the car went on to win - crossing the line in clouds of smoke.
During the door-less laps the airflow into the left hip radiator was compromised and the left bank of the engine began to cook itself. The car would not have lasted a further lap ….
