For me, highlights listed so far are the Vulcan flypast on Sunday, and on-track the Chaparral 2A

'The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power is back for its eighth year and returns to its roots by celebrating “Power” in all its forms. Track action will include an “over 1000bhp” race and over 120 of the country’s most valuable and iconic cars and bikes will battle it out for a place on the podium. There will be Dragster demonstrations together with stunts and displays on track, and on the water. Sunday will see the Vulcan take to the skies along with the Red Bull Matadors. The first concours d’elegance will celebrate American muscle cars and 80’s poster supercars. On Friday visitors will be treated to the first ever parade of every production Lotus ever manufactured, organised by the Historic Lotus Register....

I'm disappointed it will only be a flypast and not the full display, but so far it's the only booking for it in the area.
I'm looking forward to the Typhoon display as well - saw that at Southport last year for the first time, and it's an impressive sight. And I'm hoping that after the noticeably smaller event last year, CPOP is back up to its previous size and going up from there. It's nice to have an event of this nature around here.

I was looking at attending this event after a few years of going to the Silverstone Classic but I've just been checking the website & I'm put off by the fact you can't park your car in the camp site ? I was considering a run over in my Esprit but not if I have to leave it parked in a public car park for 3 days ! Even if I came in the family car, after a 3 1/2 hour drive I'd have to park up & lug a 5 man tent, sleeping bags, airbeds, cool box, gas bottle, food, drink, stove, camping chairs, etc etc etc & then pitch it & then do the same in reverse on Sunday before we could leave, no thanks ! What are you supposed to do if ( when ! ) it's raining ? At Silverstone you park next to your tent so you know your car is safe & use the car as storage, put the tent up & then load it from your car. Shame, because it looks like a good event but unless the parking arrangements change I won't be going :-(
That's weird. I was about to post that it's always been fine and that people who were on our classic car club stand last year parked their cars near their tents, but I just looked on the web site and it's changed for this year. I wonder if it's something to do with security - there were some thefts from tents last year. Can't think how that would help, though, as having the car next to the tent would mean you could put valuables in there instead of leaving them in the tent.

As we drove up a pimply Herbert said unload,your tent and park over there. Pretty much nobody did
If We were asked we would have said we had flat. If we were asked and it was over 10am. We would have said we weren't drink driving
It is fantastic though. It's so good don't tell anybody.
If you are camping don't forget there is a bar in the middle in the evening and we managed to get into the concert without getting asked

Well I'm camping anyway, IMHO not really a hardship to keep valuables in car, or keep them in your rucksack, and I'll be having EVEN more fun than watching at LeMans...

Well, last year if you had a ticket for the event then the concert was included, as there wasn't an option to not come to the concert. For the first few, the Saturday evening fireworks and classical was optional, but I guess they assumed it was hard to stop people without tickets from seeing and hearing fireworks.Some Gump said:

It's a fairly recent change to June - it used to be in July, and was brought forward to try to avoid the terrible weather. As I recall, the first year it was in June we had pretty much the worst weather of all, car club displays were abandoned due to being under water, but it's been reasonable more recently. They've done work on the grounds, though, to make rain less of a problem.t idea..I can only assume they don't think there's a massive number of people who would do both - maybe if they think people are happy to travel to Le Mans, then they're more likely to do GFOS than CPOP. I'd love to see it get busier again though and have my fingers crossed.
Really getting excited about this now, this is such a great event in beautiful surroundings and strikes the right show/Motorsport balance IMO. This year will be even better for me as my Porsche 944 Turbo has been picked for the 80's poster car parade on the Sunday, although I should be running the sprint provided the car is fully prepped in time 
so for me the thing I'm most looking forward to (and slightly scared about!) is trying to put a time down on a pretty terrifying course! Oh and seeing the Group B cars in action should be awesome, I've never seen a Delta S4 in action before...

No, wasn't me - mine is silver as they all were originally. I do know of someone who had a Magnum coupe with a nosecone, that was yellow but I think it's back to flat-front now. A chap from our club comes down from York in a bright yellow FD VX4/90, he'd have been near the camping area a few years back.if it was you it was yellow and a nice car, patrked on the way to the car park,

Sporting Bears Dream Rides at CPoP, this year on track too!
We are of course offering our charity rides for the road, which will see the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster, Lola T70 Spyder, Bentley GTC V8s, Bentley Mulsanne, Atom, Ferrari California, Lotus Excel, Elise, Aston Vantage and DBR2 recreation, Healeys, MG Boattail Speedster, Fiat 124 Spyder, Monaro, Noble, TVR Tuscans and Cameras, X-Bow, Dino, plus more.
well, well, well, here we go, I am delighted to say Sporting Bears are attending CPoP, as we do each year, I am also delighted to say some Bears are at LeMans, I also know some Bears are at race meetings or still fixing engines or polishing paint. There is always an event on somewhere, there is always a choice and over 30 Sporting Bears cars chose to raise money at CPoP, the race cars on track put their skills to the clock, as the Lola and Porsche GT will testify a couple of years ago, it is on THIS WEEKEND, see some exciting action across the water, track and air, then when you are ready, check out Sporting Bears Driving for Charity. Go to LeMans, don't go to LeMans, rain, sunshine, whatever you want to type here, lots of people will share the passion in Cheshire that is CPoP and lots of Sporting Bears will be driving all day to share their cars and raise money, smiles and memories supporting Children's Charity. I've been a few times before, but today was disappointing really. A lot less trade stands, in the show car stands, there weren't so many and it didn't look like you could sit in and have a good poke around. Before there has been Honda, Ford, VW, Porsche and other luxury and sports car dealer stands. This year I saw Kia and MG manufacturer stands, and some sports car/luxury cars. The track cars were good, a few cars got bent in the hay bales, the Eurofighter did a good job in the low cloud. Didn't seem to be as big a crowd as previous years, and some of those past ones have had much sttier weather than today. Not sure if I'll be going next year.
