In my search for new cars. Im becoming dismayed at prices of 2nd hand cars so have been incrementally increasing budgets to find something i would say was decent value for money.

have discovered early 20/21 year polestar 2 dual motor long range's are now around 19k with 50/60k mileage.

for research purposes i test drove polestars demo 24 plater dual motor and really liked it. didnt get the cramped feeling inside that other people mention but maybe driving a z4 coupe for so long has conditioned me.

what are peoples feelings on used polestars at the current price point. Using the crude PCP final payment option to gauge future deprecation, They are estimating around they will be 10/11k in 4 years time.

The alternative would be a 2021 (china built) model 3. the model 3 does have the better range and charging network but i just see so many of them i dont get excited by them where as polestars still seem kinda cool whenever i see one.

only thing I heard about the performance packs was the ride was noticeably firmer. so was looking to avoid. seems most early dual motor's its rare to find without the plus and pilot pack. The plus pack seems mandatory for the panoramic roof. The pilot system was nice on the demo i drove but its one of those things i dont know how much i would use untill I have it.

Other concern is range. Seems real world winter range for the 78kw dual motor would be about 180 miles on motorway driving. My once a week trip to the office is 155 miles with no charging where I park. cutting it a little close but seems doable

I’m in a similar position to the OP, looking for an EV to replace my Leaf which goes back to the lease company later this year.

P2 - looks great and ticks a lot of boxes but at 6’4 I really need to sit in one and check the seating position/space. Hatchback is a real bonus for chucking a bike in the back. I’d be looking at slightly higher mileage cars (60k) so not sure on reliability going forward.

.
still doing research on P2's. apparently launch cars had the manufacturer warranty extended to 4 years from 3. this was done for all cars ordered in 2020. so some 2021 delivered cars may have warranty to 2025. but i think there is a mileage limit of 60k.

the initirial 3(4) year warranty can be extended for 3 years for £1199 but this needs to be done before warranty expires. so i think it will be hit and miss what cars have what. battery is 8 years/100k for all
