Mrs has EV and we've had home charger for about 9 months supplied by octopus

Been waiting months for northern power grid to come round and de-loop supply

Her uncle in Scarborough gone through same process as us but has had the work completed a few weeks ago has just had a £2.5k cheque land compo for the delay without claiming anything

Anyone else had anything like this? Advice on next steps to claim?

I got £200 from Northern Powergrid last year as voltage to house (and village) was peaking at about 262V. Most of the time it was above 255V so charger cut out and didn't work. It took them 5-6months to sort it. I was being a bit naive at the time when they rang to offer money, I think i could have easily got a bit more?!

If uncle is anything to go on, don’t do anything . Cheque is in the post.

That's what I'm hoping

Currently re-doing en suite and cash would come in handy

Would obviously be nice if they send you a fat cheque.

In the meantime, I'd suggest you keep good notes of any extra money you're spending, as a result of not being able to use your charger. For example, if you had to buy a three-pin charger, and if you had to make extra fast-charges en route because for instance you'd come back from a long trip one day and needed to go out again the next, and the three-pin hadn't been able to fully recharge the EV. I.e. be in a position to demonstrate the direct financial cost to you of their failure to straighten out your electricity.
