Are there any maps which show the price of public chargers?
Discussion
I'm new to EV's and I'm sure when I looked on myBMW app and searched for chargers it brought up how much they charge but I must be mistaken as when I look now it only shows the charge speed.
Is there any app or website that shows how much nearby chargers are, or is the same across the board so 50kwh chargers are £x and 120kwh hour chargers are £y etc?

And the app Zapmap. Tells you price and if available. You can also filter via price and charging speed.
Also download and register on the Tesla App as that tells you all the Tesla superchargers you can use, even if you don’t have a Tesla.
Availability of chargers has improved massively recently. Whilst I don’t charge away from home that often I’ve never had an issue.

Thanks I'll take a look.
Also, I believe my car has a maximum charge rate of 200kw/h, can I still use chargers that are faster than this or will it overload it? I appreciate that if I can use it then it will only be 200kw/h though.
It won’t overload, the car will draw whatever it can up to the maximum the charger provides. 200 will be the peak, around 30% battery with warm car and warm weather, it will taper down as charge level increasesAlso, I believe my car has a maximum charge rate of 200kw/h, can I still use chargers that are faster than this or will it overload it? And no, you won’t overcharge. Have used a 300 charger on my BMW that charges at 150 without issue.
Thanks again, much appreciated.kambites said:

I wonder why this info isn't on the myBMW app as well
Because legacy car manufacturers are still a bit rubbish at the EV specific bits of EVs?

Either that or, knowing BMW, you might have to pay for a subscription to the service.

I hardly ever charge away from home, so not sure, but does the BMW app maybe only show pricing for those charger operators that are engaged with the BMW charging subscription?
You're not going to believe this, I've found that it does show prices after all, it takes about 4 clicks to find it but it's there

Interesting that at the nearest superfast charger (Osprey) it's 91p for BMW flex but 'only' 79p for directpay (need to look what that is).
I'll charge from home 99% of the time but I'm still waiting for my home charge point to be fitted.

So I’m at the charge point currently charging, says it has the potential to charge at 240kw but it’s only charging at 116kw, anyone know why this is please?
It depends, what was your SoC on arrival? Did you preheat the battery? Are there other vehicles charging? All those can affect the charging speed.

Not sure what SoC means? I didn’t preheat the battery as it was my understanding that the car does this automatically if you route it to a charge point on the sat nav? I didn’t preheat send it from my phone though.
Only me charging at the moment.
The state of charge (SoC) is your EVs battery percentage of charge (i.e. 34% remaining).Only me charging at the moment.
EV batteries can pull more power from a chargepoint when its battery is between 20-80%. If you started charging when your battery is at 8% or 89%, the charge rate will slow significantly - this is due to the EV protecting the battery from large amounts of energy.

I'd check if you've got preheating enabled though.
