Had anyone else spotted the rather comical massive mistake in this online mini EV advert. I'd line up and shoot the ad team myself.

This one if you've seen it.

I also have no clue. I'm kind of distracted and a bit stressed by the sheer number of notification icons on the OP's screenshot though.

Is it that nobody drives from London to Liverpool? Nobody drives a Mini north of the M25? Any chance of a hint?

Ok I'll let you out of the misery.


The chosen charge stop is beyond the range indicator, which is also being widely optimistic.

Considering the ad is suggesting how clever the car is at not doing exactly that!

No it can't be that - there's no way that chequered flag denotes the finishing point! BMW and all the testers have got it wrong.

The advert will be pulled and a massive recall strategy is being formulated as we speak.

They should all be shot for such a mistake.

OP will be head hunted and recruited by BMW as Global head of QA

The flag is the end, the green circle just outside the range indicator and below the roadwork symbol is the charge stop…I think.

As a mini ev owner I can tell you the range meter (or guessometer as we call it) is very pessimistic. It always under estimates range. It’s so bad the owners club always tells new owners to ignore it and work on %battery = miles left. That’s for the old model, which is a small battery short range, but light and chuckable EV, not sure on the new one.
