Considering an EV soon that supports V2H and V2H, will also be getting a circa 6kw solar array next year.

How can I make V2H possible, given I can't find any bidirectional chargers for sale? Whether it makes £ sense, is another matter also. It seems like effective V2G is some way further off.

I don’t think you can. Keen on this myself. Myenergi have said they are hoping to launch a bidirectional Zappi next year

Did the uk trails only finish last month? Last I saw the DNOs don’t support V2H and therefore no one is selling chargers. There are reports of charger coming soon, so maybe in the next two years?

Ah, that's fairly disappointing. Thanks for the info.

Octopus do a tariff https://octopus.energy/power-pack/, except it's only currently available with the chademo equipped cars (the old Japanese charging standard, eg Leaf)
Best to wait until the car companies fit the two-way invertors so you don't need a fancy wallbox costing thousands. Renault is first

It's mostly being kicked into the long grass because it's not what people hyped it to be.
People are looking beyond day/night storage.
If you want day/night storage, you can now get better for sensible money, whereas just a couple of years ago, the cheapest way to get a >20kWh battery was to park an EV on your drive.
Now you can get off the shelf solutions from about £200 per kWh.

V2L is perhaps more what people want? Being able to run up to a couple of kW from your car or van.
Handy for a few things in a power cut, away from home like camping, tools for trades etc.
A contact I have uses this on his MG EV, but he's in Oz, dunno if UK models do it?

I believe the original poster has a VW ID7 so it already comes with the ability to V2H. VW limit you to a certain amount of V2H usage - after the limit has been used you cannot use the car for V2H anymore.
Worthwhile pointing out that home batteries have come down significantly in price and are a probably a better long term option to power the Home. They are easy to install, expand and relatively easy to replace. They are also designed to do the job.

Cheers, yes an ID7 is planned, though as our car usage is almost entirely when all of us are away from home, it seemed like a good use case for V2H.

I'd not realised home batteries had got to that £/kW level, that's worth another look.

My understanding shaky but wouldn't you still need a wallbox with the necessary electronics to avoid any risk of backfeeding the grid during an outage?
