I am taking delivery of my second EV, a Nissan Leaf in 2 weeks. Octopus already confirmed that only one EV can be registered at anyone time (to prevent abuse I presume) and suggested that I manually do the charging. So I'm keen to find out how other 2-Evs PHers are dealing with this issue. Do you re-register the car that will do the most mileage? What else should I think about. TIA.

I have a Zappi with Octopus. Can you not change the integration from car based to charger based? That's how mine is set up.

^^ This set up the charger to manage the charging, use the car with the biggest battery as the base and it will create a schedule based on that.

Mines default set to add 80% when often its only 50-55% and had no issues.

From what I understand, Octopus has "taken over" the car charger. Essentially Zappi is just a mindless/dumb charger that will do whatever Octopus tells it to do. What Octopus CS told me is manually charge the car at night, which I presume means plugging the car, then changing the charging window to 2330 and 0530 to match the low rate window octopus IG provides..

If you did Charger integration, you still get the 23:30-05:30 charging times but on your app you set the percentage of charge you wish to charge. The app should be configured to your car with the bigger battery. It doesn't matter if you are planning on charging 80% of you capacity or 1%. It will stop when the charge limit set in the car is reached or the charge percentage set in the app whichever is met first.

I don't want to unpair my device and re-pair it in case it goes all wrong but in your MyEnergi app you need to remove the schedules and set it to Eco+ mode. If charger integration is set up correctly, when you plug in your car, the Octopus app will notify you with a planned charging schedule for that night. This is based on the stated car battery should be functional for whatever car you plugged in.
