Smallish and quick SUV for under £35k used?
Discussion
Currently driving a 2021 XC40 T5 PHEV, and thinking about moving to fully electric.
Needs to be better all round to make changing worthwhile, as I like the XC40.
No bigger than the XC40 - less than 4.5 metres long
SUV type, as I prefer the seat height
Less than 6 seconds to 60, for safe overtaking
Heated memory seats and steering wheel.
Prefer not to have a glass roof
Comfort over "sportiness"
200 mile + range.
Under £35k used at a main dealer, still in warranty.
Here's where it gets tricky :
Easy to turn off lane assist and speed limit bonging
Must be able to play music from a memory stick
Must have a proper remote key, or keyless entry
Must be able to read the info displays and operate the controls without putting on my reading glasses!
I thought a top spec EX30 might be ideal, but it fails everything on my "tricky" list.
Even the obvious XC40 Recharge Twin seems to fail because the Android ICE seemingly doesn't play music from a USB stick. I don't want to have to plug my phone in.
What's out there that meets my criteria?

A Macan GTS or Stelvio Quadrifoglio spring to mind as small quick SUVs but I've never owned either so don't know about the other bits.
Edit. Just noticed this is in the EV forum so guessing it's an EV you're after, cancel the above then.

I like the idea of the Ioniq 5, but it's beginning to look a bit dated, and it's quite big. The GV60 is better looking to me, and a little smaller.
I was about to say all the E-GMP (EV6 \ Ioniq 5 \ GV60) are the same size.... but actually you are right, albeit not by much,Useful site:

I have only glanced at the GV60 a few times, but it seemed to do the "Lexus thing" of building on Hyundai/KIA well. Based on our experiences with the Ioniq 5, the foundations should be good.

Your criteria is same as mine except I’m not bothered (within reason) about 0-60. Also we’ll be doing 20K/ yr. Even the obvious XC40 Recharge Twin seems to fail because the Android ICE seemingly doesn't play music from a USB stick. I don't want to have to plug my phone in.

Looked at XC40 and was gobsmacked even Apple CarPlay isn’t wireless. Was also bemused by the ‘Volvo Specialist’ insisting it was FWD when it’s rear (single motor). I was further put off by staggered tyre sizes - had that before, right pain not being able to even out the wear.
I can’t find anything better than Hyundai Kona Ultimate. It’s spot-on size wise. For me, the 5yr warranty on Approved Used is big peace-of-mind benefit as we usually keep cars until there’s a need to change them. I’m hesitating due to its looks.
Size is an issue - if even a bit bigger was OK it brings in cars like Nissan Ariya and BMW iX1.

That’s how it starts…. but they have recently palmed me off on a Hyundai dealer for servicing. They still come and collect it, but have stopped bringing a trailer so they add a fair few miles!
Honest question, what is this "servicing"?I've owned an EV for 5 years and over 100k km, it hasn't been to the dealer once...

I'm not keen on the looks of the latest Kona. The wheel arch/wing detailing is very "fussy". Prefer the Kia Niro. Longer warranty too on a new one, but the Hyundai is unlimited mileage I think?Looked at XC40 and was gobsmacked even Apple CarPlay isn’t wireless. If they put the bigger motor and battery from the Ioniq/EV6/GV60 in the Kona/Niro, that would suit me.
If I'm honest, I really don't NEED to replace the XC40 for at least a year or two - still got a year of warranty and another service left, part of the deal for taking a bit of finance and paying it off. I'm just using the better/faster excuse to justify changing.
The Carplay/Android Auto thing doesn't bother me, but not being able to have my music on a memory stick or other permanent storage does.
Seems like Volvo dropped the ball when they switched from their own Sensus setup to Google. If you have to rely on Carplay/Android Auto for music, it really does need to be Wireless.
I think Kia/Hyundai had a similar problem, not sure if they've sorted it now. If the car had wireless charging, you still had to plug the phone in for Carplay/Auto to work.

I can't see other manufacturers dropping the requirement for "servicing" to keep the warranty - too much invested in their workshops. That might change in the future, when all new cars are EV.

It's a Tesla, I remember having the same conversation with a VAG dealer who was talking about yearly service but couldn't tell me what the 200 quid was for if you pointed a gun to his face, as it didn't include brakes or tires.I can't see other manufacturers dropping the requirement for "servicing" to keep the warranty - too much invested in their workshops. I didn't know other brands required this, especially talking about a dealer 45 minutes or more out of the way. At least they should have a list of things they check they can tell you?
After all the rave reviews from some posters about the GV60 - went and had a look at one. I guess I am not the target market as the interior whilst reasonably well built was not to my taste - and as for the looks particularly from the front, side and rear - well let's be kind and just say it is not going to be entered in any car beauty contests.
