I'm trying to find a definitive answer whilst figuring out how to install the Octopus Compare Google Play App whilst not owning an Android Device.

I am currently on the Tracker tariff. This is probably costing me an extra £45 per month just for the car charging part of my electricity bill. I am a fairly high user of electricity since I am home 7 days a week and I love my condenser dryer! I know that my tracker rate and standing charge is much lower than Intelligent Octopus.

I am thinking that there isn't much in it between these two tariffs!
Here are the rough numbers

House usage per month = 600 units
Car usage per month = 400 units

£136.80 for the house
£28 for the car

That’s at my IOG current rates.

Edited to ask can you balance load in the night on tracker, excuse the ignorance?

With that sort of split on house vs car use, I think you'd save a lot being on IOG vs Tracker.

Likewise if you can load shift other things, like putting washing on, or the dishwasher on a delay to come on overnight, that saves too.

If you can't do that, or need to charge your EV outside the IOG cheap period because of shift work etc, then Tracker is a better bet.

More often than not I get many extra cheap rate hours for the car and whole house if I plug in during the day when my car battery is low but I do charge on a 3 pin plug which means the Smart Charging App calculates that I need extra hours to achieve 100% charge prior to departure time ( which I set at 4am).

Agile is also worth a look. It worked out 30% cheaper for us than Intelligent Go, and vastly cheaper than Tracker. Helps if you have a smart car charger that can work out when Agile is cheapest for charging the car.

600 @ 0.24 and 400 @ 0.075 gives you an average rate of 17.4p/kWh.

If you've got a good ability to load shift with an EV you would be better on Agile than Tracker. Being at home during the day is good for Agile as a lot of the cheap slots are between 1100-1600. You do need to keep an eye on rates to get the best out of it but only I do in my house, we cook with electric during expensive times and we've averaged 13.3p per kWh this year.

You can probably move a big chunk of the household consumption to 7p if they were smart. Our blended rate is about 12p

check out https://www.octopriceuk.app/compare , you can plug your API into it and get an actual comparison for the tariffs based on your usage.

Admittedly, I could save by switching to Agile from Intelligent Octopus as my car use is very little, but can't be bothered.

Here are the rough numbers

House usage per month = 600 units
Car usage per month = 400 units
At present, assuming you use all 600 units in the daytime rate (there'll of course be some background use overnight - router, alarm, phone charger, etc), and 400 units at night, you'll pay:
600 x £0.24 (the daytime rates are going up in a couple of weeks, but this'll do) = £144
400 x £0.07 = £28

How many of those 600 units could you move to run between 23:30 and 05:30? The more you can move to that time on IOG, the more you'd save. It shouldn't be too hard to match/beat Tracker at this rate!

Although not a competition, our average rate is currently 7.2p pkwh

Oy used 19kwh during the day over the last month, and my wife works from home.

Thank you that confirms I should stick with Agile, I was wondering about moving to Intelligent but would be £500 worse off.

Also look at Tomato Energy they have some good plans.

I agree with Agile. My wife and I both WFH so we are able to use the cheap daytime slots for laundry and dishwasher. We are quite flexible in when we need to charge the car so just use the Octopus Watch app to predict when will be cheapest over the next few days when we are getting low. It is also immensely satisfying seeing how much you can be paid when prices go negative
