Liverpool - Golders Green - St Albans - Liverpool
I’ve got Rugby as my charger but I’d prefer something similar further down the M1 - I’ve got 200 miles range.

As an infrequent away from home charger I like the big new places, I’ve used Carlisle, rugby and Scottish one I can’t recall by Galashiels.
All easy with no drama.

How do I find 10 ish charger locations?

I tried zap map but couldn’t suss it.

Might be a little off your route but there is a huge new charging location opened at Checkley Wood on the A5 between Little Brickhill and Hockliffe. In terms of facilities I think it only has a Starbucks at the moment. But it's so new not many people know about it and it has loads of capacity.

This is also true for ABRP, but find a station on your route (filter by connector type or kw if you want), then when you tap on a charging location it will show you how many stalls there are total, and how many are in use or offline.

Zapmap make you pay for the advanced filters like the multiple devices ones.

https://abetterrouteplanner.com lets you though, go to All Settings > Chargers & Networks > Minimum Charger Stalls

I do some of that route fairly often, as Rugby can get so busy I tend to aim for Corley services (8x Instavolts) or there's an 8-bay MFG site just off J2 M6. There's another 8-bay MFG at Cannock just after the M6 toll booths.

Further down the M1, Newport Pagnell southbound services is upgraded 16 bays). St Albans is quite well served too with the Shell garage near the motorway on the way in and the Fastned site by the Sainsbury's.

Re ZapMap, the easiest way I;'ve found it use some simple filters:

Go to the top left of the app (two 'sliders') and I just filter by a few 'trusted' providers.

Along the M1, GridServe are at loads of the Service areas, but AppleGreen have quite a few - they're always at least 6, but often many more, so you really don't have to worry.

Newport Pagnell (M1) is extremely well serviced - AppleGreen have 16 on either side, and Gridserve have 3, so plenty of choice.

On the map you just need to click the one you're interested in, and it will show you how many stalls they have, and how many are in use - it's very easy.

We use the M1 frequently between Surrey and Northumberland and last time we drive that journey we found zero waiting at any of the main service areas - much much better than it used to be.

Brilliant thanks - Newport Pagnell is ideal

On the way tried Corley south out of interest, only 8 ish and one space free however my EQC would fit but myself and the guy next to me would be able to get out. Slim guys only.
So got to rugby with loads of nes chargers for Tesla and possibly instavolt bit just one working and free out of many. I’ve been lucky.

Newport Pagnell on the way back I think
