anyone planning on getting an R5 when it's launched? read the spec this morning and noticed that it's coming V2L capable, which is going to be a huge positive step.

Too small for my needs but hoping the upcoming 4 is designed on similar lines and it will be a contender

Would be nice if Renault stopped teasing it and actually got it on sale.

I said ages ago a month or so from when Renault started to tease it continuously, by the time it does arrive, everyone will be fed up of seeing snippets and hearing about it and will have moved on to something else!

A lot of EV's these days already have V2L? It's V2G that's going to be the huge step.

sorry, i actually meant V2x. you're right that loads of cars can have stuff powered from them, but not yet a whole house or flog cheap power back to the grid for a profit.

Rover used to do that years ago. Months and months of build up to one huge anti-climax.

That's what Renault claims the R5 will do, let you sell power back to the grid. There's a whole ecosystem that needs to be put in place first and a boatload of wrangling to achieve that. But one day it'll make evs even cheaper to run, I'm sure of that.

true. for now it's more about being able to hoover power up cheap, free or even get paid to do so, power your house for days with it and have a nice shiny vehicle to use when you want. obviously this is a much better use case if your car is parked at home most of the time for whatever reason.

My local dealer suggest H1 '25, but the battery is spec'd as smaller than the e-megane which makes it too small for me annoyingly

I’d be very tempted if these end up on our company car list.

I am tempted to order one of these when it’s possible to do so. French configurator is available now, to those curious. Unsure when the UK one will be.

Local dealer called.
Not expecting a demo car until early November.
R5 ordered through them at the moment are slated for Feb 2025 delivery.

I told them I’m not ordering until I’ve driven the car, so I’ll take my chances post November 2024.

Looks like interior colour is tied to trim, so if you want blue then you need to take the lower spec Techno.

I think you can add all the "iconic" equipment and end up at a very similar cash price, but we all know how "options" affect any lease \ salary sacrifice figures.

(I quite like the yellow interior on a yellow car.... not as convinced it works with all colours though!)
