3 pin EV charger

Good afternoon

I’ve ordered a tesla and need a 3 pin charger to tie me over until I’m able to get a proper wall mounted charger installed.

Can anyone recommend any cables?

The screwfix cable has been mentioned but wanted to check before I purchase.

This - it should come with one.

Normally new EVs come with 1x type 2 and 1x 3 pin

Ah unknown, it isn’t new, it’s tesla certified approved so i’m not sure.

Will ask the salesman.

You don't always get a granny charger with new EVs these days.

Tesla have always supplied their “Mobile Connector” 3 pin charger with new cars (although with the appropriate adaptor and Commando socket, it can supply 32A same as a wall charger) so you should get one with the car.

If not, I’d buy one off eBay. Many of them have never been used.

I think new Teslas don’t come with a mobile connector as standard now but older ones did. Not sure about approved used though. I’ve just bought a used model 3 from a different dealer and it only came with the type 2 cable. The bag for the mobile connector was still in the boot so it had one at some point. The Tesla charger has a button on it to open the charge flap so I bought one off eBay used.

If you don't need a 10m cable, i'd be going second hand and probably the Tesla one.

I’m looking at the one month old Model Y sitting outside my house with one in it. Guess what. It came with the car.

See also the post above from a dealer confirming that. Do you think that maybe something has changed in the last few days?

Did you even read the bit where he said it wasn't new?

Yet oddly you made the assertion that new cars came with a charger, which is not pertinent, as it isn't new and also verifiably wrong.

Our new EV came with a charger (Polestar); our second-hand one, approved by a main dealer, didn't (BMW).

It's always worth checking, IMO.
