PHer’s, thoughts on this?? (I’ve only just come across it)

I’m generally averse to any new tech or concepts nowadays on cars as it’s not really for the enthusiast or my version of being a car enthusiast, but this is nevertheless an interesting concept. My initial thoughts are nothing will beat the driving pleasure of steering via the front wheels and power to the rear, but this undoubtedly has radical improvements to manoeuvrability, mostly for parking and moving around in tight spots, but it’s the diagonal driving and new style of “drifting” that I find most interesting. If it works into mainstream production it would be an game changer from the way we drive, the controls we use and even how roads are designed.

While not in the same league as this i had a 2008 7 series that did similar at motorway speeds using a few degrees of rear wheel steering and also used it at low speeds to get it'self around tight spots. Was quite cool seeing and feeling it in action actually.

4 wheel alignment is going to be interesting when these things are a few years old! biggrin

I much prefer the other features it has. if it detects a pedestrian is about to step out, it projects a giant stop in front of them. laugh
