Polestar 2 Spec
Discussion
I'm currently looking at replacing my Audi E-tron with a company car. One of the options is a Polestar 2 which I like the look of and fits my usage well.
However, I'm wondering whether it's worth paying the extra £80ish a month to go for the Long Range Dual Motor, over the Short Range Single Motor?
How much extra range am I realistically going to get with the LR over the SR? Is the DM worth it over the SM? I work fairly rurally so I like the idea of the AWD as it's come in handy with the E-tron I have currently.
This would be a brand new 24 facelift model.
Any help would be appreciated!

I've a 24 single motor long range, with plus and pilot.
The plus gets you the heat pump, improved seats the Harmon kardon I'm in Cumbria and the heat pump im sure helps...
I.got 100-10% range at over 270 miles in the winter on motorway and over 320 in the summer, charging is rapid though drops significantly at higher states of charge 75% plus.
The dual motor range on the earlier cars, is impacted more than the new 24 car, as they improved the disengagement. If I could have had dual motor and plus inside my company car budget I would have done.
It's a cracking car, not Tesla efficient, but I'd have it again...

I can get the Long Range, Dual Motor with Plus back but I just have to pay an additional £80 over the SR SM with Plus Pack. It's just a case of whether it was worth going for the longer range car really as I think even the short range will do decent mileage to a charge?
My E-tron does 170ish miles to a charge so anything more is a bonus
I have a 2023 LRDM with all packs and at the point I ordered, it was 100% worth it due to the extra fun from having double the power and awd Vs fwd. It also meant I could get the nice bits from the performance pack which isn't available with the single motor.
From 2024 model year, there isn't so much difference between the single and dual motors and I reckon the long range single motor is the pick of the bunch in terms of balancing cost vs range and performance. The main thing is to make sure you get the plus pack as it really elevates the perceived quality of the car

You're only comparing the Short Range Single Motor to the Long Range Dual Motor. 5Mes and I were both talking about the third model in the range, the single motor car with the long range battery. Is that not an option for you as that will certainly get you the longest range?I can get the Long Range, Dual Motor with Plus back but I just have to pay an additional £80 over the SR SM with Plus Pack.
