Citroen e-C4 X: Anyone has used it?
Discussion
Had one since October, around £300pm maintained on a 2 year.
It's a perfectly functional run around but for me there's a couple of reasons I'm glad it's on a 2 year.
1) The infotainment is absolutely awful. The touchscreen is too far away & steering controls not intuitive in the slightest. It's also very very glitchy with android auto regularly dropping out.
2) I just can't get a comfortable seating position in it. The seats are too soft and doesn't support my legs at all. Fine for the school run, but if going any distance the wife drives
Range about 150 max this time of year.
Forget the P11D, I've had emails from Stellantis now I'm on they're mailing list offering them at £23k.

I bought a 21 plate e-C4 (the hatch version but otherwise the same AFAIK) in Nov.
What do you want to know?
Pros:
Quiet (even relative to other EVs), comfortable, smooth, easy to drive, good power/response for day to day driving, spacious, steering responsive, good adaptive cruise and ok lane following. Physical controls for HVAC etc. Preconditioning is useful. Charges at up to 100kW so fairly short stops. Lots of adjustment in the driving position. Good audio (or perhaps, adequate audio which sounds great due to the lack of background noise).
Cons:
Short range (~120 miles at 70mph at this time of year).
Niggles:
App can be slow to connect, it's a bit flaky.
Android Auto disconnects occasionally which is annoying, (but usually works fine for me).
Sills slightly awkward to step over getting in and out
Brakes feel a bit long-travel and hard to modulate
Took car to dealer for recall and it came back with cruise inoperative (they fixed it the following week though)
No one-pedal mode (it creeps like a traditional auto at low speed) although 'B' mode feels quite a natural level of regen
Lacks power for high-speed acceleration (understandably given its remit)
Rear window and camera get dirty (no rear wiper)
Although suspension is generally comfortable I think the anti-roll bars are a bit too stiff which can cause rocking on country roads with uneven edges
I find the seats really comfortable including for long distances, I've chosen to take this car for longer trips due to that despite the need to stop and charge. But seat shape is somewhat personal, however I think most people find them good.
Overall I think it's a really nice EV which makes the most of the an electric drivetrain's inherent refinement with good comfort and noise isolation. The main downside is the range for longer trips, but whether or not that's a problem depends on what you need a car to do. I find Citroen's online range estimator fairly realistic https://www.citroen.co.uk/electric-for-all/range-o...

I don't know if you need the 'X' saloon version, but the basic e-C4 hatch is available 'brand new' but pre-reg from £20k on AT

The range is better if you can handle driving at 60mph. I've done a few 120 mile trips in mine now with the cruise set to 60mph and it's consumed about 65% of battery. That's with the car fully loaded with the heating on as the outside temperature has been 8-10°.What do you want to know?

I agree with everything you said. One thing I'd add is that the boot could be slightly bigger, but that's based on using it as a family car and I think the X model has more boot space.
Just saw this "independent" test about the e-c4x https://www.media.stellantis.com/em-en/citroen/pre...
What trim level did you get? Sounds like a nice car.
Actually independent 1000km results from Bjorn Nyland:
MG4 64 10:10
e-C4X 10:40
ID3 55 11:05
Megane 60 11:15
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1V6ucyFGKWu...
However, it is true that up to 100kW charging in the Citroens offsets their poorer range to some extent compared to some other slower-charging EVs.

"Independent" indeed Convenient how they happened to have 100kW chargers on site, precisely matching the Citroen's peak charge rate but preventing the MG4 from making use of its 150kW charging potential.Actually independent 1000km results from Bjorn Nyland:

Its the top of the range model Ë-C4 X

I took the Hype black option (with massage chair), panoramic roof, 360 vision pack for an extra £1500.
I am also going for the 54Kwh battery which is a tad more expensive. Altogether, the total monthly outlay should still be around £293

Sweet, so you've ordered the "e-Series" which is the top trim level, plus the extras - nice.
Mine is the Shine Plus which was the top trim level when they launched in 2021, including leather and highway assist which are good. Standard equipment has become less generous since then overall, but your e-Series with the Hype Black sounds like you'll be getting all the good stuff.
The new battery is about 10% bigger (51 kWh useable vs 46 standard), it also comes with a 20hp stronger motor which is fractionally more efficient too. I think that's a good choice, the range is the worst feature of these cars so having a bit more is valuable.
One of these has appeared from nowhere as a cheap family runabout for us. Our local dealer apparently offering 269 down then 269 a month, 4 year PCP. Strikes me as stupid good value unless I'm missing something (apart from minimal mileage on that agreement, ofc).I'm going to have a run in one.
It is indeed a bit of a deal (outside of random ones like the Honda one).
Putting badge snobbery aside, it gets very good reviews on all the major auto YT channels and websites.
Other than the boot and the range, there's not much going against it.
And the amount of kit you get on this new car is absolutely fantastic.
If anyone knows of a better VFM car, am all for it as my wife is due a change of car next year.

Range is highly dependent on weather and driving speed/journey type.
At 5c and 60mph, probably 140 miles.
Whereas today it was 15c and the car was reporting 5.9 miles/kWh after a drive around town. That was probably an over read, but even 5 miles/kWh would give a range of 230 miles from 46 kWh battery.

The normal one is approaching £10,000 on four year lease.
It had a price cut today.

Decided to go with one of these as our first EV. Still have an ICE to lean on if needed. The clincher, besides the good deals currently, was the ability for my OH to charge for free at work. We'd be daft not to give it a go for a couple of years. It's an e-C4 Max and I was absolutely chuffed to find it has an updated "full screen" infotainment, so no more thick HVAC borders on each side of the screen. Carplay/Android Auto looks fantastic.
