Has anyone done of one these? I’m looking at changing cars later in the year and the Mach-E is pretty high up my list.

Just wondering what the deal is with insurance excess, details they want and whether there is a hard sell before or after.

It’s a bit premature really but if I wait till the autumn I might lose the option of the extended test drive.

I would imagine they will try and sell you something but no more so than any other test drive.

I don't have personal experience, but I've heard several people complain about the ride quality.
Horses for courses and all that - you may find it to be fantastic though.

I’ve got one. Overall pleased with it, very good long distance car with all the tech, comfortable, good range (motorway only it will do 200 miles in very cold weather and 280-300 in the summer).

Ride isn’t great at low speeds, uneven surfaces make it wallow about, makes me think that Ford just haven’t yet got to grip with how to sort a chassis with so much low down weight. It’s fine on smooth surfaces.

I chose it over a EV6 and Tesla Y.

Dealers are a bit naff. No hard sell at all. I was given the keys to one for a day, no pressure to buy at all.

I'll be coming from a Ford Ranger Doublecab so it will probably feel like lying on a giant marshmallow while being massaged by Katy Perry in comparison laugh

Good to know, thank you. I have already ruled out the Tesla Y/3 on personal preference. Decision probably between the Mach E, I-Pace and EQC.

I have Mach-e GT so it has the magneride suspension and this makes a really big difference to the ride quality, but this is the only model they offer it on.

You're right about comments on the ride quality across the rest of the range, but take it for a drive and see what you think. I liked the tech and the interior fit and finish is much better than their standard range of ICE vehicles. I had a 2021 Kuga before the Mach-e (a rush deal, but very cheap on PCP) and that was what I would call a typical Ford interior, a bit plastic fantastic despite being a vignale.

I walked away with a very good deal and negotiated an extended Ford warranty and paint protection as part of the offer.

If you get a new model, you will have access to bluecruise, so full hands free driving on UK motorways. Ford are the only manufacturer that can offer this. I tried it out on a Ford customer event and it's very trick, but as I don't drive for my job anymore I wouldn't stump up the annual fee for it, as I'd only use it 3-4 times a year.
