Anyone heard on the colour options yet ?
I believe the configurator will go live in the uk on the MG web site around the end of March for the first deposit paying customers, car will be available in 5 colours with either a red or black roof.
Light grey or red leather seats and trim.
Still not heard on the final on the road price for the rear wheel or four wheel drive.
Still around the £50k for the rear wheel drive and £60K for the awd.

Anyone have any more up to date information they can share ?

Not so great looking when you start really looking at the details. Check out the sill height. Then notice how they have had to paint the top of the doors and boot black to bring the perceived height down. It’s basically bloated.

I see the details but it doesn't align with your interpretation, to me it adds to the flow from the front to the back.

The steering wheel is really ugly though.

and it needs a four speed DCT wink

Thing that surprised me most was the size of the thing when stood next to it

I'd imagine so. I expect most thought it would be Boxster sized (4300mm), but its actually almost as long as an SL at 4550mm.

Appears to be similar in concept to an electric F-Type

Quite a bit bigger still. It's actually longer than a current model 992 911.

I'm not sure I'd call 6cm longer and 1cm narrower "quite a bit bigger". smile

All relative. 6cm longer can make all the difference I'm told. smile

Either way, I imagine it's quite a bit bigger than people originally expected? More GT than sports car perhaps?

Yes, I was thinking more MX-5 from the pictures.

Yep, pretty similar in size to the F-type as said, did anyone ever think it was going to be MX-5 size? its always appeared more of a GT type car from the pictures

Yes

From the pictures I saw (with no references), I assumed MX5 size.

Its not a car I am ever going to own, and hadn't even heard of it before this thread but when I looked online, it looked very MX5.

Hoping this turns out to be way cheaper than expected, MG could really have a hit on their hands here if it's priced right.

I can't imagine it costs much more than their other cars to make.

They do look pretty excellent in the flesh, seen a few on test some months ago (red and silver ones) and the red looked gorgeous. it is pretty big though, im note sure how much of an MX5 rival it will be! !!
I just dont know how these will get on, if reliable to use as a proper daily, they may well sell quite a few in the scale of things. But will people buy them as a second or summer car, as is the case with similar Ice cars? I am not so sure.
But they do look great and if they become affordable in a few years, and prove reliable, i can see people fighting over what i suspect may be the few 2nd hand ones about.

The subframe welding doesn’t look brilliant .
I haven’t seen many cars pictured like the ones you’ve shown so little to compare with - it all looks rather “busy” thou.
Just one thing - no such thing as a heavy c of g . - the measurement is distance . What it has is a low c of g and those sideways tests look quite impressive . Never seen those done on other cars - is this sort of testing normal ?

And what’s wrong with driving a nice car to a National Trust property ?
