Ok well "stops production for 6 months" line. The oversized manufacturing volumes that are serving a faltering EV market will take more scalps before this year is out. Tesla might be able to ride this. Nio prob next in line. BYD has solid backing and lower priced models for survival.

Might still outlast Fisker. Post their published December financials they are not expected to last beyond mid this year unless they can find a buyer, and apparently they've been trying to do so for a while now with no bites.

Just like every other business Mr Fisker has been involved in then.

Lots of EV companies set up with the sole purpose of hoovering up government grants and subsidies. No surprise to see many going to the wall as were often never intended to be a viable business.

Saw one of these at the Goodwood FoS....I had a feeling it wouldn't be around long. Kinda weird looking, super gimmicky (able to display messages on the outside of the car?), and I got a general sense of 'Hmmmm'. Not surprised.

It says they operate in China and Saudi Arabia.

As far as the article states they have suspended production. not gone into liquidation.

So how is this relevant for the rest of the world?

BYD are the number one EV seller in China, Nio are number 8. There are loads more and I'd imagine some of the more obscure brands are likely to go under before Nio.

BYD stated as a rechargeable battery manufacture so have a great background to bring to EV production. I know a few posters have been predicting the demise of Tesla for many years but I don't see either them or BYD becoming insolvent.
