Mercedes EQB Front Passenger Airbag Deactivation
Discussion
Hi per the title, does an EQB allow for the front passenger airbag to be deactivated?
Went to Watford Mercedes yesterday and they didn't have an EQB, only regular ICE version in the showroom. Called them midweek and they had confirmed they did have one in the showroom. Argh.
They had an ICE version which had a sticker indicating no passenger airbag deactivation/ no baby seat in the front. The salesman said however that that in the EQB the front passenger airbag can be deactivated via a button on the electronic display but it wasn't a confidence inspiring answer.
I know Mercedes have their front passenger weight detection tech which auto switches on/off aribag... so can anyone confirm EQB Front Passenger airbag can be switched off by choice?
Thanks

Just had a look at mine, it does have the automatic detection on the front passenger seat. The information on the car menus is a bit vague but there is no physical way of disabling it and I can’t find anything in the settings to do that either.
Maybe there is a higher weight threshold for determining wether a seat is occupied or not but in other cars a bag of shopping would be detected so I’m not convinced.
