I'm interested and will be watching the launch presentation and dealer launch event (when that happens) with interest.

My local OPC has 100 expressions of interest (as I believe it's called) - not everyone will take it up but I expect that's them sold out already for 12 months.

I feel like this would be a great option for us, however the pricing is likely to be painful. Whilst entry level prices probably won't be so bad to stomach, the need to add on so much optional extras to bring a Porsche up to the basic entry level most other cars have is a bit too painful. It wouldn't be so bad if buying the car outright but uncertain future values mean this would have to be a PCP/Lease for me to have some security net.

Hopefully they do well, however I'd also welcome a huge tank in prices the way that the Taycan has as that would make them much more appealing as a used option.

Yup, worldwide reveal on the 25th. Porsche has been allowing a bunch of people to drive the mules here in the US for a couple of weeks. Supposedly, the mules are pretty damn close to the final product, so we will have to see. But the range testing that was done shows that its more efficient than the Taycan, so it bodes well. Its on the latest VAG platform and shared across a bunch of models. Porsche no doubt will make major modifications to it though (just like last time).

Looking forward to it, but I am afraid that the prices are up on the ICE model, so might be out of my price range at the moment.

I'd put down an 'expression of interest' for one at the same time I picked up my Taycan. My Taycan was so unreliable that I asked for the Macan deposit back in the end.

Still really interested in seeing how it turns out, but I don't think I'd want one of the first ones off of the line this time.

Livestream of the premiere has just started. It’s a biggie for VAG being the first model on their all new PPE platform; there’s a lot riding on this!

Looks pretty good. More evolution than revolution design wise. Inside is quite understated but looks functional.

470kW should be adequate.

Yes, I suspect they've nailed the design - Macan was very successful for them so they didn't want to upset the applecart!

WLTP ranges are pretty impressive for an SUV, 382 miles for the 4 and 368 for the Turbo, so solid 300 miles most of the year round. With a 100kWh battery, that suggests a good 3m/kWh average consumption so clearly the work on aerodynamics has paid off.

I think these will fly off the shelf.

I like the look of these, wonder what the price will be on SS offerings through employee schemes.

I only watched a bit of the live reveal. Did they mention price at all and when they will be available in the U.K. market?

The PH article on General Gassing says from £69k for the base model. No mention I could see if release date though.

I’ve just built a ‘4’ and it came to £87k. Hopefully depreciation is at Taycan levels!

What do you call Taycan levels? 2020 cars at £50K and upward.

Selling for that, or what you'd get to cash in?

your's must have been posh, I only managed 81.4k.

Heated windscreen non-standard on a 70k car. They take the piss.

Do you need a heated screen on an EV though? Just pre heat and then A/C keeps clear of mist. I wouldn’t
Bother speccing one.

£70k start price and then having to add £2k if you want cruise control and lane keep assist is just madness to me.
I’m impressed by the relatively low entry price, which I certainly think makes the Taycan horrendous value when comparing stats and pricing. I just wish they’d included more spec as standard and had a higher entry price, though we all know that’s not the way Porsche works.
