Hi all.

Just wondering if anyone has any problems with OVO charge anytime? I put the car on charge last night

It charged for a bit, then has been stuck on 'Planning your next charge' since last night

I had an issue recently but it was the opposite, it would charge straight away and ignore any maximum charge value I put. Wasn't a big issue as it still logged at the cheap rate.

Has since gone back to working normally.

Connected to an Ipace.

Very strange

I've deleted the app, and re added the car to the system

It says its charging now, but the app doesn't give any option to set a schedule, or even start an urgent charge.

Luckily I just have enough for today!

After resetting it all and re adding it, I left it for a while.

It's now decided to charge, I set it to 13.00 and it's smart charging

Not sure what happened!

Check the charger isn't applying a randomised delay. Smart charging legislation means a charger won't just start charging at the start of a schedule. It will apply a randomised delay anywhere from 0 to 900s at the start of the schedule. Idea is to stop 1,000,000 chargers all pulling current at exactly 11pm or whenever a cheap tariff starts working. Some chargers don't communicate this very well to the user

There was an app update which I only installed yesterday and had a similar problem with it being stuck saying it was planning the next charge. It's sorted itself now though, just like a bit of server lag somewhere...

Very odd, I did check what the charger was up to, and it was set to manual mode.

Ah, could well be it then.

What charger have you got OP and what app do you use to schedule your charges?
I’m on Anytime and have an unsupported car MG4 (it’s orange so you may see me round Malvern).
Due to its un supported nature I have an OHME ePOD smart charger and use the OHME app to schedule my charges. About two weeks ago it failed to charge on the 5th Jan leaving me stuck at home. This has never happened in 7/8 months of daily charging. OHME and OVO are apparently trying to see what happened but haven’t got back to me yet. When I looked the OHME app had stopped listing the individual charge statistics since 5th Dec.

The next day and since it has worked faultlessly again and the OHME app is recording daily charge stats. I’ve now set the charge point lights to “on” so I can look out the window at bedtime to just check it’s charging.

Weirdly, mine has now done the opposite and fully charged from 66% to 100% on Anytime rate this evening. I plugged it in around peak time about 6pm - I know it's quite windy, but still, wouldn't normally expect it to charge at that time when I have it set to be ready for 7am!

Hi Mike,

I do like the MG4 in that colour! I may well have seen you around smile I have a Pod Point. I've set the Pod point app to manual, and I use the OVO app to schedule the charges, this is the first time it's gone funny on me. It was like the car wasn't sending information over to OVO and wasn't updating..

Ah, that can't have been ideal with regards to not charging, glad it's working better now though. I hope they manage to see what happened to it..

That is starting early! Mine usually does a bit in the evening, then starts again after 12.30- 1.00
