Hi,
I’ve picked up my used e-Niro and don’t have a charger installed yet, so thought I’d use the granny charger that came with the car. I plugged it in it lit up, showing power and 10a. I then plugged it into the car and nothing. The car doesn’t flash to show charging and the charger does not show its charging. Should it automatically start charging? It looks that way from the manual (I got that desperate).
Am I missing something.
Thanks!

Does the car detect the charger at all?

Is there a light next to the charge port?

The car recognises it’s plugged in and there is a light by the charge port. Thanks

might be worth seeing if there's a timer set in the car's interface. could be the last owner had it set to take advantage of intelligent octopus or similar.

Does the car have any schedules set for charging?

It could be the last owner only wanted it to charge between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m.

Scheduled charging is off according to the car and app. I’m wondering if the charger may be faulty.

My neighbour, but we don’t speak 😂. I think I’ll drive past Kia tomorrow and pop in.

On a similar line, there might be a maximum charge level set eg 80% or whatever, if it's above that it wouldn't charge I guess.

On the newer Niro EV, you have to long press the button next to the charge flap to start it off on an immediate charge.

I dont seem to have that button in the car and can’t see any reference to reserve charging on the cars computer or app. My wife is taking it into Kia today so hopefully they can just test the charger.

Plugged it into someone else's charger and it charged no problems - so waiting for a replacement slow charger to be delivered. Thanks
