Fisker Ocean Extreme
Discussion
Just had a couple of cheap (ish) lease deals for these come through via email.
Caught my eye because in addition to the 564hp, they have a HUGE battery and WLTP of 440miles, which seems remarkable value given lease deals of ~£540 pcm for a 12+35.
Has anyone actually had or driven an Ocean on here? The reviews seem pretty positive and the car looks good in pictures... great spec. Interesting to see such a good value (all relative..) EV come from the States, at a price point on par with similar from China/Korea - albeit I'm sure those eastern firms can further lower their prices should they feel the need.

I'm going to have look at the one they have at Westfield shopping centre on Saturday, but don't know if anyone's driven one over here. Some of the reports I've read suggested they were a bit like Tesla in the early days - a bit wonky in places and work in progress with features not working yet and needing the inevitable OTA update. Mind you, I'm reading the same about the first deliveries of the Eletre (although fit and finish seems good).

I wish I lived in a world where £700 a month was even cheapish.
Only 25k to borrow for 3 yearsCheap as chips
But it has to be one that does 200 miles for £7 of fuel, otherwise it's not a fair comparison..
In performance EV world, this is cheap. Compared to performance ICE on the same metric, it's an absolute steal. Feel free to post an example of a cheaper way to bankroll an equivalent ICE for the same money for it's first 3 years of life.

It's come from Austria, hasn't it?The European ones are built by Magna Steyr, I'm sure?
That way they don't have to spend unnecessary money building a new factory, at least not yet.

Ar what point did you ever live in a world in which a brand new 550hp sub 4 second SUV for £700 a month wasn't cheap??I suspect the point was that £700 a month is a lot of money for anything to most people.

Off topic a little... but am I there only one who finds this study of thing a bit shady from lease providers? Just lease me the car for the same amount per month, don't hide it with a huge lump sum up front.Or am I being old-fashioned?
The overall deal looks good and Fisker will sell every early one they make with demand outstripping supply for now.
My understanding is that all of the Fiskers are built in Austria, so should be bolted together pretty well. Its the same factory that builds the I-Pace and the G-wagen!
Saw one on the road the other day and it looked different and had presence. In a land where every other car is a Tesla model 3 or Toyota Rav4, it looked very different. I like that. I also like that they come in COLORS!! (I know its spelt wrong, but computer and keyboard set to US, so it auto corrects).
I have to say, I like what they are doing and initial reviews here in the US have been positive. Dont expect the most amazing driving experience in the world, but do expect it to be a very competitive car from a manufacturer that is brand new - its pretty difficult to pull this type of thing off!
And I love the rear opening windows too.... a great way to get rid of hot air on a very sunny day, or farts too.
