Local area EV take-up - how many near you?
Discussion
Live in the suburbs which is a mixture of older houses with garage blocks and new builds with driveways. Definitely more EVs on the new estate but whether that is due to driveways or more affluent / younger occupants I don't know.
I would say we are an outlier on our estate which I'd guess is 500 houses, certainly the only house with two EVs. I reckon there are no more than 10 EVs overall (if that!).
The newer estate would be much higher I'm sure. So in your area, are you an outlier or are EVs quite prevalent?

There's about 90 houses in our street, of which I've spotted 6 EVs, we account for two of them (a Zoe and an M3P), the others are an MG4, MG ZS ev, MG5 and an eC4.
I'm seeing a fair few MG4s/ZSs in the local area and a handful of Teslas. So they are starting to appear in greater numbers.
We're near Wigan, I suspect you'd find more the closer to London you got.

It does seem that the EVs are concentrated in the very much more affluent house areas. We are an eclectic mx if harbour side houses all 2.5M + second row at £750-1.5M and infill £400K plus. With a couple of exceptions the EVs are with those £1M+ houses.
Not really unexpected though at this stage of EV development.

mid sized village population about 500 near Harrogate.
When we got our first ev (8 yrs ago) it was the only one in the area. Now there are maybe 15 in the village. Few teslas, couple of eqc, couple of mg, couple of mokka/corsa/208, a zoe, an i3 and at least 1 mini.
A fair number of hybrids.

Very densely populated outer London suburb here. There’s a handful of Teslas and a few MG4’s and iPaces in my local area.
Mostly a majority of German diesels of all ages followed by the usual smattering of other marques but EV take up isn’t huge just yet. On my own little estate of 22 we have our first EV show up last week - an Ioniq 5 but they sell cars for Hyundai so no surprise.
Around the airport which is 6 miles away (Heathrow) cabbies are driving VW ID4s mostly either MG5 next most popular anecdotally. Black cabs mostly the Chinese diesel hybrid now, not so many of the old ones left.
Diesel Merc cabs outnumber them by a guesstimate of 50/1 though still along with hordes of Priuses.
Things are slowly changing though.

Collection of new build developments about 10 miles North of Leicester with probably around 500 houses across them occupied - I'd say around 10% of houses have at least one EV. One has three Teslas and a Huracan - bit of offsetting going on there
On our estate with 49 houses, we're the only household with 2 EVs, but five or so more scattered about.

There are 14 houses on my street and just 2 EV's : My Polestar 2 and a Tesla M3 Performance - been the same for 3 years now. It's mostly populated by the older generation, which seem to be the last to switch to EV's
On the next street up the first 9 houses all have EV's
-> A house with 2 Leaf's
-> A Polestar 2
-> A Tesla M3
-> A Skoda Enyaq
-> Tesla Model Y
-> MG4
-> A 2016 Tesla Model S
-> Jag i-PACE
-> Another T M3
Take a look at my work car park (~1,500 cars) and it's play spot the ICE car !

60 houses give or take. Bang on average middle class suburbs. All can fit at least 2 cars in the drive and charge.
We have 2 full EVs in the development. A BMW I4 (he works for a BMW dealership and given it) and across the way has a Tesla model 3 LR (bought 2nd hand).
We run a BMW G21 330e we plug in to charge to bump the number up.
There was a Polestar and Tesla at 2 other households but both went back to ICE cars so never been more than 2/3 at a time in the development.

Middle sized village between Leicester and Loughborough (about 7000 people). On our particular estate there are 71 houses, about half a dozen houses with an EV, but only one that is pure EV. I'd say it's a slightly higher than average proportion of the village that has an EV but then it's a commuter village on the more affluent end of the spectrum, so company cars are relatively common. Nothing wrong with it one way or the other
