Kawasaki have announced a hybrid, the Ninja 7 Hev.

A 451cc parallel twin and 48v hybrid system. It doesn’t say if it’s a plug in or “mild” type.
If it’s a plug and has a range of 10 miles ish of pure EV I’ll be thinking about selling my bike and scooter and get it to replace both.

Total power is only 70hp with both engine and MG working together but this would be enough for me.

I did think about posting this in the motirbike section but I thought someone here may be interested.

Cheers,

Interesting. Would be keen to have a go.
Definitely a hybrid rather than a plug-in hybrid. They reckon performance is up there with a 1000cc bike from 451cc. Probably indicative of the pricing too!

Probably weighs more than a 1000cc bike too.

Kerb weight 227kg. Which is around 30kg less than a Kawasaki H2 SX (a large supercharged sport-touring bike) and 20 kg more than a Kawasaki ZX10R (superbike).

I think there's a lot of potential for hybrid bikes.

My Son's Oset with custom battery is a fantastic bit of kit. Instant power and enough stamina for more hours than he has stamina for.

On road bike where you're seldom WOT for any length of time, the hybrid potentially offers enough environmental improvement whilst maintaining the fun of a big bike.
