Hi all

I need to go to Bristol tomorrow for a 9am meeting and will need to park and charge for a few hours. Are there any reliable options in the city centre (meeting is next to Castle Park)?

Hoping to not need to drive to several carparks to find a spot and ZapMap isn't showing an awful lot of choice.

Thanks!

Cabot circus has some 7kW pod point chargers

https://charge.pod-point.com/address/cabot-circus-...

But I'd be tempted to leave Bristol via Cribbs Causeway where there are Gridserve, Instavolt, MFG and Tesla rapid chargers

Avoid Rupert Street NCP - it has two BP Pulse points which never work. The Shell just as you head out towards the M32 has a charger and the aforementioned Cabot Circus.

Or if you’re heading out on the M32, InstaVolt have chargers at Bristol Golf Centre, last junction before the M4.

Thanks guys. Charged at Cabot Circus but purely by luck got a spot.

There are six double-sided Pod Point units, but all the side Bs are out of service. Doesn't say so in the app, app just says "Charging", so I pulled up and called customer support to tell them it was stuck. Customer service rep on the phone told me B was out of service, ditto the other 3 empty bays. No signage, no notification in the app, nothing.

I'm not super familiar with the system (mostly charge at home) so had topped up because the app wouldn't let me proceed without credit, once I realised all chargers in use or broken I asked for a refund of the top-up which was processed on the phone. As I hung up one of the cars in a working bay left so I quickly wizzed back over and had to top-up (again!) to charge.

Thankfully I'd already decided my back-up option was the Shell recharge over the road before I left as they've got six bays, but happy to have spent £0.35/kwh rather than £0.69!
