Best "drivers" EV?
Discussion
As I'm finishing my home (with garage and solar power) I contemplate getting an EV. It will mostly be used as a daily driver around town and for short journeys up to a 100 miles.
Which one would be the most fun?
I'm based in continental Europe and MG 4 gets good reviews, but it's not yet available where I live. I was thinking Model 3 SR - should be fun with RWD and lighter weight?
Any suggestions will be appreciated!

I've had my SR+ for 3.5 years. Has all the power you'll really need, I've never found it wanting. Which one would be the most fun?

My wife has a MINI Electric, only slightly heavier than the Petrol Cooper S and quicker. If you can live with the 100 -140 mile range, which it looks like you can, it's a good steer.

i3s or iPace seem to get the most love from drivers on here. Both are fun, in addition to being very competent. The rwd Tesla won't reward you with any rwd fun, it's just a relatively slow EV and handles as you would expect a middle of the road American car to handle..
I wouldn't call it slow, unless you're comparing it to a Model 3 Performance. You can certainly tell it's RWD.TheDeuce said:

I think you're being rather hard on the Tesla there. It' plenty quick enough at < 6 seconds 0-60 and it's relative light weight compared to it's competitors does help with it's handling. For the price it makes a decent case for itself.SWoll said:

It corners better than a 2 ton+ car has any right to thanks to the adjustable ohlins suspension and when you combine with the massive brembo brakes and 4 seconds to 60, it is good fun on the right roads. It is heavy but almost all EVs on the market are unless you massively sacrifice range

BMW i3S. RWD, 1300KG, 180 miles of range.
Great fun around town and on shorter trips as per your described usage.
I've driven a few EVs now and the only one that I would say was actually fun, as in fun to hoon each time you use it, is the i3. If daily range fits then it's a hands down winner. It's like an 80s hot hatch. Great fun around town and on shorter trips as per your described usage.

Nope, never heard that one.
Aren't Porsche not too far away with an EV Boxster? And there's that MG sporty thing, Cyberstar, or something like that.

Yep. We've had an i3, Model 3 P, etron 55 and now ID3 Pro Performance. The only one of the lot I'd consider having again, and in a heartbeat, is the i3.
Something that has surprised me a little is that the aftermarket side hasn't grown over the last few years. Being able to upgrade the battery and its software without needing to have any life sucking conversations with BMW would be a real advantage and I had expected this to be something someone had done by now. It looks like the batteries have last longer than expected in general. DonkeyApple said:

Yes much to the annoyance of the ‘Anti EV’ brigade, battery depreciation seems minimal with most EVs, over performing in terms of degradation over a period of time.Gassing Station | EV and Alternative Fuels | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
