No idea what this really means or why the VW EVs which share the platform aren’t similarly affected.

Anyone got any up to date info on when these will be available? Call to local dealer just assured me I would never buy a car from them, very poor.

Several motoring mags are suggesting ‘summer 2024’, which (in the words of Alan Partridge) is disconcertingly vague.

Feels like the game has moved on somewhat, as Ford are targeting c. 320 mile range from the ‘Max’ version and plenty of similar vehicles are now pushing towards or exceeding 400 miles.

I think the Q4 e-tron, ID4/5 and Enyaq have had a recent range and power boost, so it’s possible that these improved figure may pull through to the Explorer too…

Ford said the delay was so it could conform to new battery safety regulations. Given battery safety regulations are normally flagged well in advance I'm not sure I believe that. More likely so it could use the latest version of VW software (it sits on the VW MEB platform), which is hopefully less problematic
