March 23 i was promoted and enrolled on the company car scheme (serviced via lex) with a push towards fully electric cars.
Didn't have a great choice, and those that I could pick would come and go based i assume on availability. Finally decided on a Leaf E+ Tekna as it simly ad the better / large battery than the other choices.
The order wnet in in March and I was told a 6 week wait. ... the order has now changed 3 times and ESTIMATED to be ready mid October.

I popped into the local showroom and was told that they are not building any more E+ and that although there is commitment to the order, they are being built in priority .... will I ever see the car or should I just give up now ? i have tried to ask lex what stock is available now and not even bothered on car type and got a meannigless answer. it feels like i should just put up with this ?

They are moving to a new model, aren't they? You might get one of those instead.

Only the 39kWh battery is listed on nissan.co.uk
https://www.nissan.co.uk/vehicles/new-vehicles/lea...
and I think it's been like that for a while.

Read to me from the bulletin sent to dealers on 3rd July 2023

The order book for new 59kw orders will close @ 5pm on the 3rd July 2023

Existing Leaf 59kw orders will be fulfilled in line with production availability.

Trust it helps.

Do you know when the new EV starts to ship? Are they building it in Sunderland?

I don't believe anything has been confirmed but the rumour is that the Leaf replacement will be Cross-Over similar in size to the Juke.

Given the investment going into Sunderland at the Battery plant next door it would be reasonable to assume they intend building something EV there.

That's a good question and I couldn't give you the correct answer.

If I was to guess I'd say availability of the 59 kWh battery pack as I believe they come from the US while the 39 kWh pack is made in the UK.

I think it actually means 'scheduled space on the production line', which may be impacted by battery availability but is also reflected in product demand, so if everyone wants Qashqai's that's what get built first.

However it's been 6 years since I last toured the Sunderland plant.

Thank you everyone. Given that it's taken so long .. and there doesn't seem an end in site, i think i'm going to cancel the order.
So much for a benefit huh !

I'd sort whatever you want instead before you cancel, you may find yourself waiting longer for something else.
