Electric cars are coming and will be here to stay, whether you like it or not.

I read it as a set of questions and asking for responses.

I see no point in debating it here. Surely those with actual evidence should do as the Government paper requests.

Sure but the legislation ain’t gonna change if that’s what you’re hoping for lol. They’re looking for evidence from actual industry bodies, climate scientists and engineers not just niche hobbyists who like cars that go brum

This is just a review of how the policy will be delivered, taking into account each aspect that needs considering and what the solutions will be.

It's not designed to change or even question the broader policy - which as a country, not just the current government, we're committed to.

Please also post them up here when you send them off, it's been at least 20 mins since the last good game of EV bingo.

Exactly, it's open to anyone who has anything to say about any of their questions.

So if you have some experience of or opinions on any of the below, among many other questions listed, then write in:

What is your assessment of the current second-hand EV market?
How prepared are car dealerships, service networks, repairs and maintenance organisations, breakdown services and aftermarket suppliers to meet the growing EV uptake?
How does the charging infrastructure for EVs need to develop to meet the 2030 target?
Are there further benefits, aside from financial, that a consumer may gain from EV use?
What are the issues facing rural residents, urban residents, and sub-urban residents and how do they differ?
Are consumers charged higher rates of insurance for an EV when compared to an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle?

I'm 100% sure your personal thoughts on the subject will be held in great gravitas in the review smile.

Based on the last couple of decades of government policy and large national projects, that just means it will be delivered badly, late or not at all wink

Questions 8 and / or 9 could be a good opportunity to raise the issue of price gouging by Salary Sacrifice schemes that is blatantly occurring these days - about time that had a bit of a shake up given they're creaming off the tax savings for themselves.

That's exactly the sort of thing this exercise is supposed to identify and counter. It's not a public opinion poll, no one cares if people like the policy, it's all about how to best carry out that policy in a practical manner. Putting a mechanism in place to prevent public incentive monies getting rolled into private company profits should indeed be looked at.

I fear however the OP is thinking more along the lines of giving his opinion on the policy... which isn't evidence and isn't of use to anyone.
