My iPace is being handed back on the 12th, my i4 M50 due mid August but could easily slip back by a number of weeks - so I need a decent priced EV on flexible contract to bridge the gap.

I'm sure I've seen others on here recommend short term lease/hire companies that can do just that but can't remeber the name of any such providers..

See if you have a local car club like cowheels. Some have EVs, can be like £20/day for the small ones (great if you don't need it every day). Varies from area to area.

There are also monthly ones, but apparently they are really expensive these days, gone are the days of getting a leaf for £200/month.

I’ve been using on.to whilst waiting for my Taycan. Was supposed to be for 3-4 months which ended being 18 months as production got pushed back, collecting it next week so have just cancelled my subscription. A couple of guys at work are using Elmo and seem happy enough

I've used on.to as well in 2022 and apparently they have much more availability of cars now compared to last year.

Is it worth asking BMW if they can lend you a demo / loan car?

I would if the car was unreasonably delayed - but the truth is it's not yet the mid August date they advised I would take delivery and I would always have needed a car to bridge the gap between next month and then.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I'll take a look at the companies mentioned smile

I've used https://on.to when I've needed something for a month or two too - the downside is that they charge for delivery and collection (so shorter rentals end up being a bit pricey). The upside is, they're a hell of a lot cheaper than someone Hertz or Enterprise who prefer to hire to people for days at a time.

Is it not worth considering shedding it with something random for a couple of months. I know you said EV but this is the time to buy a Range Rover with 12 months MOT and roll the dice for a laugh... I mean given an On.To Ipace would be over £2k any ICE for that price is probably already pretty carbon efficient at this point.

To be fair you might need a standard of car to do your job and whatnot so it's just a silly idea, but I can't help think there has to be a more fun way to spend your money than rent an EV for 2 months.
