Now that China is genuinely capable of world class design and engineering.. They need to stop nicking stuff. The front end of that car is blatantly a Tesla clone!

And before anyone says 'that's just the shape that works', I know first hand that the front end of the Tesla had to meet two criteria:

1) Be aero efficient

2) Be different to that of any other car on the road (brand identity)

So there is no way the Chinese have looked at the same problem and arrived at the same solution, it's identity theft.. Chinese cars are objectively very good for the money these days. About time they made their own identity and took some pride in their own, very decent creations. If I was going to buy a Chinese car I'd quite like it to look like it was designed by the Chinese...

Their top design person is an American who has come JLR and BMW experience and they have got other design staff from Europe who have worked at VW etc

It may be a Chinese firm but the designers are from Europe/US

I take it that you wouldn't buy a Tesla that's made in China nor a BMW ix3 that's made in China then?

Until they sort out their human rights record etc Id rather not, less issues with a company like Nio which is not mostly chinese government owned unlike some of the others.
