Aviemore Tesla Superchargers

Have any of you used the Aviemore Superchargers to charge a non Tesla. If so how did you get on. Straightforward / app easy to use / cable too short / busy?

We'll be passing through on our way up north in a few weeks and it looks handy for a splash n dash.

Just asked my dad, who uses it occasionally to charge his Model Y en route from Aberdeenshire to visit family on the West Coast.

Inconsistent was his reply. Sometimes quiet with decent charging speed, sometimes quiet but with unexplainably slow charging and sometimes full of parked ICE cars whose owners are enjoying the "delights" of the Macdonald resort*.

Probably not much help I'm afraid!

I haven't used it since the capacity was reduced but even before it was a nightmare. Always ICE'd so unless you have to I'd try and charge somewhere else.

Thanks both, I'd seen a report of ICEing before but thought it was an isolated incident, fortunately I'll have enough range to press further north. I'd actually have enough range to get to our overnight stop but would be running near empty by then. Will be meeting friends in Aviemore anyway so might as well check it out.

Get as far away from the Macdonald Resort as you can!

Seriously though, the Old Bridge is always good for food or even just a drink with a nice area to sit outside beside the river if the weather's good.

Mrs 5 loves a good watering hole - unfortunately I'll be stuck with a soda and orange. A stiff whisky in the hot tub awaits at our destination though.
