Bit of a weird one yesterday;

Firm I work for has taken delivery of a fleet of Hyundai Kona 64kwh to use as our pool cars. Had a pretty lengthy round trip (circa 220 miles) and with the cold, the indicated range had dropped to 212 miles. I wanted to make sure i'd get home so stopped at Liphook Services on the A3 to use the Shell Recharge point there. We have a company fuel card with contactless, however the charge point didn't like this so I had to use my own.

Checked my bank statement to grab a receipt and expense and i've still not been charged? Is this normal? I would've assumed this would've been straight away?

Also, it seems that the company I work for didn't really do much research when taking these cars on for our fleet so does anyone have any recommendations for methods of paying for charging (when we do actually need to biggrin )? Clearly the fuel card isn't working, and besides this not all public chargers have means of contactless payment. Is there some sort of business account solution on an app/apps that can give access to multiple users?

Just trying to get some recommendations that I can take forward to our fleet team to improve the experience for us all. Thanks in advance smile

The fuel card will be limited to just fuel and not the payment for the electric, they need to allow company credit cards and expense the fuel claim within the tax rules.

There was another thread on the same subject which was very helpful.......or not. Sorry

On the billing, sometimes if a charger can't connect to the network it provides a free vend. Had this often at a charger in Shrewsbury but its been taken out now

Shell fleet fuel cards can be issued that allow payment for EV charging too - this is what Onto provide with their subscription cars. Not sure if it’s just a case of turning it on in your existing account or if they’d need to issue you with a new card.

The one I had from Onto looked pretty much identical to ones I’ve used in the past to pay for diesel.

Thanks TP - very useful. I'll pass this on.

thumbup - they’re decent too, allow you to use other networks like IONITY, Osprey, GeniePoint and a load more smaller ones. Doesn’t cover *everywhere* you’d want to charge but I used it most often when I had cars from Onto (who at the time supplied InstaVolt and BP Pulse cards too)

Is your normal fuel card an Allstar one?

If so Allstar now do an Electric version.
