Hi there long time lurker here!

I've been on the Ev journey for 3 years with a leased I3s from new. It's now done 57000 miles with no issues apart from excessive tyre wear and being a little bit light on range. That said I've really appreciated the fuel savings and the great acceleration.

The I3s is being swapped for a Hyundai Kona Ultimate due hopefully in February.

I was on the waiting list for a Kia Ev6 GT but delivery date has been pushed to 2024 so I have looked elsewhere and ordered a Genesis Gv60 Premium due to me end of January. I haven't seen one in the flesh so YouTube has been quite busy, bit risky I know but heyho.

2nd charger being installed later today, to compliment Zappii and solar panels.

Has anyone got a Gv60? What's do you think? Genesis to be selling the customer experience and I was wondering what it was like having previously ran a Lexus

I understand there is a Genesis charging deal with Ionity which offers 25p per KwH rates when charging away from home.

Penny for your thoughts and advice?

Interesting choice, personally have the ionic 5 - but the gv60, ionic 6 and ev6 are all based on same chassis as you’ll know.

I went entry level at 37k - I think 60-75 is a lot to drop on an EV especially with Genesis brand being unknown is likely to follow trend of infinity of major depreciation.

I have to go with what Arval offer, which was December for Ionics, I'm not convinced by the styling either hence my original Ev6 choice prior to the Genesis.

The GV60 starts at £54k. The cheapest I5 is now £43k and with the 77kW battery to match the base GV60 it's £46.5k.

And please change your screen name, it's really annoying reading your quoted posts

I don’t think I have ever even seen a GV60 but reviews say everything from it’s rubbish to it’s great. I think I would need to test drive one before buying. It’s not a slam dunk. I can’t remember where I saw the negative review but it was very negative. This spread of review feedback isn’t uncommon with EVs. It seems a lot of reviewers (and maybe owners) simply marvel at the fact that they can go from A to B. I don’t think I would trust anyone else’s opinion, in short.

If you’re coming from an i3, every other EV will feel quite dull. You can’t undo a 1,000kg weight difference (maybe a bit less with the GV60, I can’t remember). But it is what it is.

I've had a GV60 for abou7 6.5 weeks back, I had been looking at an Ioniq 5, though it was a little down interior wise on the Lexus it was due to replace (consolidating a last gen Lexus GS450H and a Renault Zoe50). Having seen a few online reviews, with one giving it unexpectedly high praise (for that channel) I decided to try one. This was before the test cars were available and contact was a little hit or miss, think they are, or at least were, understaffed. I did manage to get a decent test drive once the cars became available. I was interested in the RWD premium (though heavily specced up), though to test the seats (after two back operations those are important to me) I had to try the Sports+ version. After 2 hours I was sold. Interior is very much along similar lines and aims to Lexus.

Mine cost me £58k, though the similarly specified Ioniq 5 would come in around £53k. Having said that, as well as a far superior interior, it also includes 5 years free servicing, 5 years road side, and 5 years of the Ionity deal. As far as I know the Ionity deal is just the regular Shell Recharge/Ionity subscription charges (so discounted from payg). How much you pay, I'm not sure but then there are no Ionity chargers near where I go so I can not test. Just looking up now and apparently to here it is 24p per kW, though there may be an additional 35p session charge (time to look on Zapmaps for any Ionity near my upcoming route). Hmm Near Stafford only for me in the near future, may have to try though to see.

Edit -
Oh forgot about the experience. Once I got in touch with a 'personal assistant' it was all pretty much plain sailing. Genesis are trying to out Lexus Lexus (if that makes sense), so when the car is due for a service, or if there is a problem, they come and pick it up on a trailer (mine was delivered in one of the sealed types) and you are left with a free courtesy car. The purchase was deliver to door with my PA meeting me there to walk me through various bits and get me started on the app and registering the Ionity card (with the Shell Recharge app).

I would suggest arranging a test drive. Only catch is it is probably still just two car options, Premium in stock guise, and Sports+ with electronic door mirrors (I went with normal ones) and most the bells and whistles aside from the panoramic roof.

I saw an online review of it where a couple of women ran it against the Ioniq 5 or EV6. It was slated as less practical but dearer. They didn't get it: Genesis is like Lexus, Audi, Cadillac (not that there are many in the UK) etc. It's a plusher product with better soundproofing etc. If you don't see the value in it, buy its cheaper cousin.

It's a very quiet car indeed - hushed, most would say.

Overall, it's sort of like a Porsche Macan, in that it's faster, plusher and more expensive than most of its platform-mates, but less practical.

Its particular mix of attributes won't be to everyone's taste, but H/K do seem to have most of the bases covered with the full E-GMP lineup...

We took our GV60 on its first road trip over the weekend - about 150 miles each way to Los Angeles and back.

The drives served to reinforce many of my original impressions of the car, including that it's an extremely comfortable cruiser and very, very quiet. 4 adults and their luggage for the weekend fit easily. We ran Google Maps and Spotify/Pandora via Apple CarPlay, which worked well. Our hotel in Marina Del Ray had on-site Tesla Destination Chargers, so using our Tesla Tap, we were able to top-up overnight at no additional cost, eliminating the need to search for appropriate DC fast charging.

Averaged about 2.8 miles/KWH on the outbound, and 2.7 on the return - about what I'd expected. Motorway speeds of about 75 mph except when the torrential rains made that unwise, but the slower speeds combined with the extra drag from the rain-soaked pavement seem to have just about canceled each other out as effects on efficiency.

The massaging driver's seat was....interesting. Not sure I loved it, but I also didn't hate it. I will say that I found the overall seat comfort to be "okay", but not as plush as I might have hoped.

There are 4 things I'd change if I could:
- I'd add an even firmer setting for the adjustable suspension. The rebound damping, even in "Sport" drive mode is a bit lax for my taste.
- I'd ask that ALL driver settings be saved to the driver profile. As it stands, the car defaults to "Comfort" driving mode each time it's started.
- I'd add the ability for the car to come to a complete stop regardless of which level of regenerative braking is selected. As it currently stands, only the most aggressive "i-Pedal" drive mode includes that ability.
- I'd make the "Boost" acceleration mode an on/off thing, not just a temporary 10-second burst. I understand that this would impact efficiency, but some of us don't care and want ALL of the car's available performance at any time. (especially as our is the "Performance" model!)

Traffic and weather conditons prevented me from exploring the car's autonomous driving features, so that will have to wait for another road trip.

All in all, a very nice car, and I'm hopeful that future over-the-air updates will address some of my concerns, but even if they don't, SWMBO is still well pleased with it.

Your driving mode setting may be a bug - mine I generally leave in Eco and it always starts in that mode. Now trying Comfort as I've found with the RWD version the only real difference is how much juice the aircon system uses (and I leave that low) and how responsive the accelerator is.

From videos I do note the app is different, so in the UK (and I assume Europe) we do not get the option to remotely look through the cameras on the car.

I doubt they’ll out-Lexus Lexus. The Genesis concept sounds good in theory but the more I think about it the more I realise it can’t be sustainable. Say you live in Scotland, when your car needs servicing they will bring you a loan car, they will then take your car (possibly driving it) on a round trip of potentially in excess of 1,000 miles to their single UK service centre in Bicester for work which will take less than two hours. It is crazy that the car can’t be serviced by Kia or Hyundai dealers.

I can't imagine the manufacturing cost of the Genesis will be much more than the Hyundai, so the extra purchase price can cover off all that extra overhead
