Hello All - put £500 down last night to join the priority to list with deliveries targeted for the end of this year. Selected the "Launch" edition for what it is worth.

My Renault Zoe R135 ZE50 has been phenomenal and that is coming from an i3 which was also very good.

The various reviews of the Megane on YouTube seem to imply it does everything that bit better and is evening delivering 4+ miles per kw in cold climates whereas my Zoe is on about 3.5!

Who else is onboard?

On speakEV , there seems to be a lot of disappointment due to features not available on UK vehicles.
a. Digital rear view mirror
b. Harmon Kardon sound system
c. Leather seats
d. Heat pump option

Good intel. I was not aware of this, although I can see that HK sound is included in the Launch edition which I have selected.

The other items you list are v important though.

UK spec cars also go without the 12” central screen (it’s a 9” one instead, so around a third smaller as far as area is concerned) and some of the surprisingly tasteful wood cabin detailing that the pre-production press cars offered is nowhere to be seen, either.

Feels like we’re being shortchanged a bit… a real shame as I think this could be / have been a chance for Renault to move back up the brand ladder in the way Kia and Hyundai have managed off the back of their EV product.

Will take a look - 1st I've heard its open for pre-order

I ordered an ID3 last Oct. I'm bored of it already, and it hasn't even been built yet. Emailed the dealer last week (1st time since January) so not like I'm being a pest. Zero response so far. Rediculous - although I don't really blame the dealer. I'm sure he would email back if VW actually knew.

Disappointed you can't order one in yellow; what with it being a Megane! I'm not exactly the target audience though. What's with the yellow bit on the launch edition? Looks crap.

It is odd that we aren’t getting certain bits!

Luckily I get to see a LHD car in 2 weeks so I’m excited to sit in it and have a play!

I think the screen size and lack of heat pump are mildly annoying.

The lack of rear view mirror screen v annoying.

But the my main gripe is the lack of leather interior as I’m worried it’s going to feel pretty low rent now.

Anybody seen any photos of what interior we’re getting instead?

Why do they always do this? Early adopters get screwed with a lower spec car for having the audacity to lend them 500 quid for six months.

Kia did it with the eNiro, VW did it with the ID.3, Nissan did it with the Leaf... The First Edition should be the top spec that was shown to the press, not low end that is rapidly superseded.

There is a video from an Irish youtuber I watched, and while he was driving the leather version, he mentioned that he thought the entry level looked arguably better. He said the fabrics were really nice in the flesh.

I googled some interior pics and to be fair, it looks like it might look quite nice. You would need to see in the flesh but I don't think it would be low rent by the sounds of it.

I'm wondering if the smaller screen is a problem they encountered when switching from LHD to RHD. Seems odd to make it smaller.

Link below shows a little bit of what looks like the entry level interior at the top of the page. Door cards look to be a nice material too.

Then further down, you can see the upgraded leather, which seems to replace the fabric with stitched leather effect trim on the dash.

Like that youtuber mentioned, some might think the entry level fabric dash is actually nicer. Reminds me a little of the fabrics in the Mazda MX30 EV (I think thats what its called) Personal taste I guess, but perhaps it'll look nice in any trim.

Reviving a bit of an old thread here - I've got one in Ceramic Grey due later this month on a Tusker lease.

I've only seen a couple out and about on the roads and they look good. Reviews are also good so hoping we'll gel with it!

Has anyone got one yet or expecting one shortly?
