Not especially cheap in price, but also not aimed solely at the well-heeled shopper. It's good to see the nascent BEV category expanding in terms of choice.

The article says price will be around $40,000 which doesn’t seem too expensive compared to the competition.

A manufacturer lease deal is mentioned at $3,000 deposit and then $379 per month with 30,000 miles per annum and all servicing included . Seems very inexpensive.

I just tried to find a Fister Karma for sale as there was one on Fleabay for years. Couldn’t find any in the UK but did see a transporter years ago full of them. Am I correct in believing it’s a 4 Cyl Turbo with an electric range of 30miles? I thought they were out of business.

Fisker himself appears on stage. He is revealed to have been "hiding" in the boot!

He says:

The Ocean will be sold globally (and we must therefore assume RHD in the UK). Building out the US market is the first step.

Plans have been developed to produce at least 1,000,000 units during the next five years.

Affordability is fundamental to the business model. The company will do as much as possible via an app (on your phone) and online to keep costs down. The company will also offer opportunities to lease and hire apart from ownership.

It's such a pity that the PH mods have demoted this post to the EV sub-thread.

This live-streamed event is being missed by many more PHers.

Five large tactile buttons are separate from the touch-screen interface on the centre column. Fisker explains that these physical buttons are easier to use while you're driving. And therefore safer.

The price in the US will be $37,499 before any BEV incentives offered by the state and federal governments (in a typical case in the US, incentives will bring the price below $30,000). And of course, the advertised price does not include tax.

the all in leasing thing would be very reasonable even if it was a direct $ to £ conversion.

During the presentation, Henrik Fisker went out of his way to say that his company is based on the intention to practise the principles of reduce / reuse / recycle. (although he didn't enumerate those principles as a trio, like that)

The latter two principles are the basis for many of the materials used in the interior (recycled T-shirts, plastic, and nylon) as well as certain exterior fittings of rubber.

The first principle -- reduce -- relates to the product life cycle. Fisker said something like...

. . . "We are not here to sell you a new car only to design another one that you replace the first one, with."

and...

. . . "We are a mobility solutions company."

...which dovetails nicely with what he said earlier in the presentation about offering affordable solutions in lease and hire -- apart from full-on ownership.
