Article headline..‘Two considerably different cars, both impressive in their own right.’
Don’t bother reading it, you’ll learn nothing new, you’re either so far up Teslas virtual tailpipe you’ll only read the pro Tesla bits or you’re still an ICE lover and you’ll cling to the ultimate driving machine tag of BMW.
Why bother posting these things from websites nobody has ever heard of anyway?
Although On the plus side at last you can legitimately comment on power train differences

"While the BMW is by far the better driver’s car of the two".
The Tesla is just so ugly.

Looks are subjective, like the rear of the 3 but that nose is hideous.
I thought this was very interesting.
$20k difference as tested..
The internet says the top speed of the 330i is 155mph - or is it limited to 130mph in the USA?I thought this was very interesting.

EDIT: Just checked BMW's US website, it says 130 [155]. It also says: "Top speed limited electronically. Figures in [ ] apply to vehicles with performance tires and increased top-speed limiter."

This Automotive News article makes depressing reading for the German luxury car manufacturers - it cites over supply of leased German luxury cars combined with the Tesla Model 3 affect, as people do exactly these sorts of comparisons and decide the Tesla is a much better proposition https://www.autonews.com/used-cars/luxury-residual...I thought this was very interesting.

Wow that price difference and the Tesla still won.
BMW really need to come up with something to fight the Model3 or their days are numbered.
They already have. It's the X Models, not in old-school sedans.BMW really need to come up with something to fight the Model3 or their days are numbered.
And sales are up in 2019:

[quote]With September’s results, we have now achieved positive sales growth in 24 of the past 25 months,” said Bernhard Kuhnt, president and CEO, BMW of North America. “We thank our customers for their continued confidence in our new products and look ahead to year-end, with a focus on maintaining the momentum that our dealer network has built with us over this time.”
BMW brand sales in September were once again driven primarily by the BMW X3 (5,943 vehicles) and BMW X5 (4,339 vehicles) Sports Activity Vehicles, as well as the all-new seventh generation BMW 3 Series sedan (4,303 vehicles).

Have to agree with the looks, am thinking of ordering a performance as a company car as I drove one a few weeks back, great improvement over the normal BMW’s but I just don’t like the way they look. "While the BMW is by far the better driver’s car of the two".

What's up with BMW? They got into electric vehicles and now have seem to be far behind VW catching up to Tesla.
They seem to think more about horrible front grills than going fully EV as VW are doing. So short sighted.
In the perpetual VW v Merc v BMW battle BMW are on the back foot as they have not shifted quickly over to EV.
It's a race to catch up with Tesla and BMW are still adjusting their starting blocks.

They wouldn't exactly be my choice, either...I've thought about doing chrome delete on mine, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

That works right up until the model Y murders them in that market starting summer 2020.
Be interesting to see what happens when BMW release the i4 and iX3. Will the pull of the Tesla brand be enough once they have truly competing products with the M3 and MY?SWoll said:

iX3 will be a pig, makeshift ev on an old platform, expect inefficient and expensive. i4 might be great but it'll be in the market 4 years after the model 3 launch and I'm betting won't measure up to the lr rwd yet cost 30%+ more.
BMW got a great toe hold into the ev market with the i3 and i8 then sacked that ceo lost the development team and bet the company on diesel.

I somehow doubt that will happen. The Model 3 hasn't murdered them sales-wise, as per the link I posted. They have 24 of 25 months of increased sales. If your theory was true, they'd have sold almost no cars in the last year.
The Model X has already been competing with the X5 and hasn't murdered it. There's no sign of 3-series sales drying up, either.
I'm no BMW fan but it's difficult to argue with facts.
