Goodbye To The Dullest Car I Have Ever Owned
Discussion
I've had a LEAF 40kwh for 14months now and it's served me well, a great, comfortable, hassle free commuter wagon.....BUT MY GOD IS IT DULL.
So providing the lease paperwork goes through OK today with Cotswold BMW I'll be replacing it with a shiny new BMW i3S this week. Pretty basic spec, just front sensors & reversing camera as options, but by all accounts a far more interesting car than the LEAF.
Yes it has a small boot, and the stupidest doors this side off....well....anything really, but it's a stopgap for 24months until the raft of EV's we are promised arrives.

Looks like the front end has tried to devour a fridge.
Who would have thought, different people have different tastes, but you can always be sure of one thing on PH...someone will be along to piss on the chips of anyone who dares to be excited about getting a new carLooks like the front end has tried to devour a fridge.

I think that out in the real world they look superb
<looks out of window>Nope, pig ugly.
I don’t mind the way an i3 looks, although I suspect it might date quickly

er, what? The i3 has been around for 5 years. If anything, it looks better today that it did when it was launched and you'll see a lot of small cars from other manufacturers have "borrowed" it's design ideas!Max_Torque said:

Tall with a short wheelbase has always produced a pig ugly car, such as the i3.IN51GHT said:

I've not driven a Zoe but the i3s is a great little car and all the better in 's' trim. It's noticeably quicker and the sport mode a nice added touch. I think it's incredibly entertaining and it's possible to do micro slides in the wet, if provoked. Having said that, grip is surprisingly good.
Personally I love the quirky looks and applaud BMW for daring to be different. Can't see how it'll date as it's like nothing else on the road, inside or out. The visible carbon fibre still hasn't worn off.
As for spec it already has most things standard so don't worry. The large screen is standard so don't think you'll miss much else.
Anyway, hope you enjoy.
